We have some threads dedicated to some specific models of SFF/Micro form factor computing devices but I was unable to find a catch all so I thought I would start one.
I mainly wanted to talking about the new Hades Canyon NUC's from Intel. These are tiny VR capable systems with Intel's new Core i7 series chips with a discrete AMD designed GPU included as part of the chip package. The AMD Radeon RX Vega M GH is said to have similar performance to a Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060. This is being paired with a Core i7-8809G processor in the high end version of the Hades Canyon NUC which is set to retail for $999. That price does not include RAM or storage. There is also a $799 version.
I have been wanting to either build a SFF PC to replace my aging desktop or buy a Mac mini (this is not very likely with Apple's current product lineup), but the price of GPU's right now makes that unlikely. For just a bit more than the price of a good GPU I could get one of these and call it a day.
