NFL 2017 Conference Championship Thread

Oh Fornette... had a small separation, could have ran it in if he caught that.

Wait, where'd Master Bre'tac go if they're out of Bud Light?

4th and 14. Blake Bortles.

Oh my.

Gilmore made a great play. Jags need to 3-and-out the offense and get it back.

Run defense fail, that'll do it.

Whoa there was a big hold on that replay.

That pass could have been a TD.

That should do it.

Alabama won the CFP.

New England is going to win the Super Bowl.

What else, Yankees and Celtics?

Sports sucks.

Damn.

Man. A year of phenomenal defense, and you give a up a 3rd and long conversion in an obvious running situation. Ouch.

Well this should put to rest any notion of a Bortles long term deal. Go sign Cousins.

And go NFC.

Makes up for Tyree, I guess.

So, draft thread?

Such a typical Patriots win. Brady + Belichick GOAT, no doubt.

Jags O needed one more good drive in second half and couldn't do it.

The 3rd and long there at the end was stupid. If Romo knew who it was going you know the Pats did as well.

To repost something I put on Twitter, it's quite possible to both be sick of the Patriots, and love watching how they play. Also, the Patriots have played in seven Super Bowls so far, and the combined point difference in those seven games is 26 points. So, you know, they're at least fun.

Also, as long as they lose to the Vikings, I'm happy regardless.

Whelp, that was disappointing.

Needs more Manning

The hold was after the back had turned the corner and was heading for the first down, so I'm not sure how much of a difference it actually made. Just noticed the player tied up when they did the sideline replay.

Most likely it was a good "let them play" non-call, but was just surprising to see it go uncommented on.

And now for the "We're f*cked No Matter What" bowl.

Come on Vikes. Patriots super bowl road game can surely stop this madness.

Is the thing attached to the eagle's tail to find it if it flies away or to prevent someone from shoplifting it from Macy's?

I saw it too, typical hold against a LB or lineman trying to get to the outside. Not sure if he was close enough to stop Lewis, but it sure looked like he was on his way.

As you say, not a big deal, but it was clear as day on the replay.

What's crazy about their SB wins is they're all within 1 score, which is basically the NFL equivalent of a 50/50 split. They're 5-2 but could easily be 4-3 or even 3-4. I'd hope they end at 5-3 but MAN it's tantalizing thinking about how they could be 3-5 and no one is talking any of this GOAT junk.

I will say if it is a Pats/Eagles superbowl I definiteyl will feel no need to watch or read about it at all.

You gotta admit, if it's the Vikes, the Skol chant around the country will set off seismographs.

Yup. I mean, I'm guessing a number of us came to our Football Maturity in the 80s/90s, when the NFC won every Super Bowl for IIRC 13 years, with an average margin of victory of probably 20+ points. It was an ugly, awful game for so long, and the New England games have all not only been closing, but entertaining as hell.

Good football is fun to watch. The Patriots have played good football for years, and they've played it defensively and vertically and horizontally and it's just entertaining as hell. I'd rather the Bucs win, but, well, it's not like that's happening, so, you know, at least the Pats are fun to watch.

Clock stopped at 13:37. Blount just had the most leet touchdown of the day.

Their two losses to the Giants were by a combined 7 points. They could just as easily have been 7-0 as 3-4. Just to be there at the end so many times, win or lose, is the reason for the GOAT 'junk'.

(mostly unbiased British onlooker viewpoint)

Terrence Newman for torched? Color me shocked.

I may not be watching the Super Bowl along with Karma.
