I just knew it. When this vote started, I thought, "The Planescape games are two of the last iconic RPGs left that we haven't played, but every time I look at them I just think I'll hate them. So far we've dodged the bullet but I wonder if this time my luck has run dry."

Sure enough, the *Legion* Social Media Marketing Agency jumps on board and now everyone is talking about tides and whatnot. Garg! Still, there is strong hope for The Outer Worlds, and as vote-miester I think I can disqualify some of these incorrectly spelled Toads ballots. So ... pretty much ALL of them. Muhaha!

Kidding aside, I'm hoping Outer Worlds or something pulls out the win, but I'll give Tormenting Times my best shot if it wins! It better be GOOD, though.

Torment: Tidally-locked is completely unrelated to the Planescape world, for what it's worth, and has nothing to do with its only-spiritual predecessor and namesake, Planescape: Torment.

Outer Worlds is a much better fit for right before Outer Worlds 2 arrives... in 2023.

Exactly. It's a spiritual successor, but not a direct one. Different game system, company's IP, and setting between the two games.

The Outer Worlds and Torment: Tides pull into a dead tie, with things starting to look grim for the rest of the field. A late rush for one of the also rans could be possible, but with most of the vote in, we might be down a two-horse race. Poor KOTOR!

How to Vote

1. Please rank the candidates in your order of preference of play, with the game you want to play the most at the top of your list.

2. You may rank as many games as you’d like. You do not need to rank all the games. However, keep in mind that a game in the bottom half of your ranking could win. Ranking at least all the games you would play is a good idea.

3. If you do not want to rank a particular game, please make sure to delete/omit it from your list. (Don’t simply leave the unranked games at the bottom of your list.)

How We’ll Determine a Winner - Elimination Style
Basically, we’ll keep running through the rankings, eliminating the game with the lowest number of top-preference votes, until we have one game that has gotten a majority of the votes. I could write a bazillion words to explain details, but this one-minute video does it better than that:

*For elimination rounds, if we have ties at the bottom of the voting pile, I'll break them by looking at second place votes, so we only eliminate one game each elimination round.

Thanks - I don’t think any of them took up too much time - except for Divinity OS2, that just went on forever. And you know you don’t have to do every fetch quest and every DLC, and easy modes and walkthroughs are a thing. Two things.

So, you must not suffer from the twin pathologies of RPG obsessive compulsive disorder and RPG excessive pride, which mandate exactly that I have to do every quest and DLC and can't set it on a difficulty level below normal.

And let's not forget obsessively collecting every game object, piece of armor, and weapon you come across, being afraid to sell them because they might be useful at some point, then running out of room and spending hours reorganizing inventory and sorting things into chests. By the time I'm done, half the game world is in my inventory.

Ah yeah. RPG hoarding disorder. I have that one as well.
