Just had the wait for the end for it to get entertaining.
I do not see the wisdom of running that 4th and 2 play. Punt and let your defense - which has been great this year - force Carolina to make a field-length drive.
Lattimore drops the would-be game winner.
That's why Reuben Foster should be DROY instead!
Wow. Brutal penalty on grounding. Ended the drive.
Good defensive call on 4th down. When I saw them line up only 3 down linemen, I thought, "ugh", but then they sent the 2 additional blitzers at the snap.
Is anyone else confused why they didn’t review the int that wasn’t? That cost the Panthers 15-20 yards in field position

Yep. Looked like an incomplete. If that had been an offensive catch for a TD I guarantee it would have been overturned

I'm not confused on why, because the "why" has been a constant of wildcard weekend: terrible officiating by makeshift mixed crews.
A few minutes later, someone in New York had to send an official running onto the field because the field crew missed the 10 second runoff on the grounding call.
But yeah, there's no good reason why the interception was not looked at, given how quickly the ball came out. That INT partially bailed New Orleans out of a poor decision that really ought to have put their win in greater jeopardy.

Was it not tho? The angles I saw looked like it was but ya the ending of that game was a mish mash of weird officiating buffoonery.
Agree on the pick not being.
Titans Jags AFC and Saints Falcons NFC riiiight?
It was grounding, but he was close to the edge of the tackle box.
I did this earlier this year, but now with the season totals
2017 Bills WRs:
Deonte Thompson: 430 yards (27 catches)
Zay Jones: 316 yards (27 catches)
Jordan Matthews: 282 yards (25 catches)
Kelvin Benjamin: 217 yards (27 catches)WRs the Bills got rid of in the 2017 offseason:
Marquise Goodwin: 962 yards (56 catches)
Robert Woods: 781 yards (56 catches)
Sammy Watkins: 593 yards (39 catches)
So Watkins had more drops than catches? Or did he just save them up for the playoffs?
Would it surprise you if Bills offensive lineman Richie Incognito targeted an opposing defensive lineman (of first-generation African heritage) with racial slurs?
No?
Because according to Yannick Ngakoue, that's what happened in the Bills/Jags game.
So Blake Bortles is in the divisional round and Cam Newton isn't. Man, what a world we live in.
I have to admit being disappointed by the Rams. I thought they were good? Anyway, I would have liked to have seen more of them in the playoffs. Instead, the possibility of a 28-3 rematch remains.
I'm not disappointed in the Panthers, by the way. Just, I dunno, baffled. Hard to be disappointed by an 11-5 season, to be honest.

Turnovers in the kicking game hurt.
Also, I am not a fan of a young team resting starters week 17. That's something you do with a bunch of veteran players who know the routine.
It's not hard to split the difference, and have all your guys go through weekly preparation and start the game, but pull them all at halftime.
There's no question the Rams came out the gate flat. Atlanta got up 13-0 on them to start the game. LA didn't have a consequential drive until there was just over 5 minutes left in the first half.
The #49ers announce Ken Norton Jr. has been hired as assistant head coach - defense/inside linebackers.

Let him coach the linebackers, just keep him away from running the whole defense.

WAIT WHAT
LTTP, but the commercial is for Applebee's, so I hope you didn't get too excited.
I completely missed yesterday, which sounds okay. By all accounts the stomach bug my son brought home was more enjoyable than the games.

He started a 1000+ page thread about how much he loves Applebee's all you can eat chicken tenders. He's past too excited.
Cleveland reportedly offered New England the Texans' 1st round pick for Garoppolo, which is now the #4 overall pick, and the offer was on the table and rejected just two days before San Francisco's offer of a 2nd round pick was accepted.
I see people on Reddit saying, "can we stop blaming Sashi Brown for not making this deal now?". Which is completely backwards. If you're a GM and you're offering that kind of value, and the other GM still wants nothing to do with you, that's a problem. GMs operate on personal relationships. Belichick wanted nothing Sashi was selling. If you don't have the personal touch with people that can close a deal, that's a failing as a general manager.
Hell, it looks worse for Haslam than Sashi Brown. It was a giant middle finger to the organization he runs.
Didn't the trade happen before the Watson injury?
At that point it was looking like the Texans were drafting in the 20s and the 49ers pick would be in the 30s.
Way less of a stark difference than what actually happened.
Also if your Bellichek don't you trade Garoppolo out of the AFC and to a team you might wanna coach?
The trade was right before the injury. Texans were 3-4 though, Watson's individual performance was better than the team's on the whole. But yes, not seemingly destined for pick #4.
Still, there's a lot of value difference on the chart between, say, pick #22 and pick #33. And Cleveland was apparently willing to throw even more value into the deal.
I do agree with the belief that sending Garoppolo out of the AFC was a priority for Belichick. Still, thats a sticking point Sashi has to get around and a deal he has to close.
There’s a chance the offer was made before Belichik lost total autonomy and was refusing to trade Garoppolo.

If we're theory crafting.
Offer 1 comes in. No. Brady goes to Kraft or some scenario.
Offer 2 comes in. Kraft overrides.
I just don't see a scenario where Bellichek turns down a better trade because it's the Browns/Sashi etc.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported in December that there is a belief that Belichick would not trade Garoppolo to the Browns out of fear that they would stall his development
Huh what? So he's a good guy? For the greater good of Jimmy the NFL and legion?
Even Belichick thinks sending players to Cleveland is unconscionable. And he doesn't even have a conscience!
Apparently Belichick and Goodell are meeting and are good friends now. This definitely seems 100% true. Yep.

Unless you're punishing Jamie Collins...

If he really though Jimmy G was a true franchise QB then I can totally see how he wouldn't want to face him in the playoffs for the next decade.
Of course, sending him to the Browns is also the best way to never see him in the playoffs, so ...
