This year is the deadliest year ever in terms of mass shootings. In a political climate of polarization, it becomes harder to suss out legitimate information from the misinformation propagated by those with political agendas. Complicating this more is the continual resistance of 2nd amendment advocates to allow for political talk surrounding these massacres. This will involve political discussion to see if there are ways we can all agree might be good ways to prevent mass shootings.
This discussion should involve the details of any current, or future mass shooting, and how they compare to past mass shootings. How are they the same? How are they different? Do gun laws have an impact? Does the race of the shooter affect how we treat them? What makes one a hate crime and one an act or terrorism? Are these shootings the price of freedom?
Can you actually read that?
Yup, when they capture a mass shooter:
Yeah sorry it's something someone else shared. It is readable if you zoom in though. It's basically a checklist of what Mr. KKK was going to do before his murder spree.
Can you actually read that?

In every way inspired by the Christchurch shooter, given that the nature of the internet is such that his message is out now, and can't be squelched.

That’s the only answer they have. “Orange man bad, send us money, go vote harder.”
I should amend that and say they're tied with whoever runs that cutesy "White House pets" or whatever account who I'm sure was like "We're all pawfully sad about all the hoomans who died today"

You left out "RT if you agree."
Shooting at a church in Orange County. One dead, several wounded.
More of this and less talking about what the shooter posted may shift the focus
Like, I shouldn't be, because "truth" means nothing to them, but it's still amazing to see some internet RWers arguing that actually, the self-proclaimed fascist and white supremacist is actually a leftist.

Hmm
"Leftist" is a self-proclaimed fascist ergo
Supporter of state-sponsored oppression ergo
Supporter of systemic white supremacy in law enforcement ergo
Right wingers are against systemic white supremacy in law enforcement ergo
Right wingers believe black lives matter and are working to dismantle the system and build a more equitable system in its place?
Hmm
I keep alternating between fury and despair in the wake of such evil. Heartbreaking to reflect upon the lives so senselessly lost.
Another school shooting at an elementary school, this time in protect the unborn and then give everyone open carry, Texas.
And nothing will change.

Just heard about it 14 students dead and one teacher.
Another one
This country has some serious f'in issues man. (stating the obvious, I know)..Protecting gun rights but yet nothing is being done putting money and resources toward mental health. How many times do we have to read that xyz mass shooter had mental health issues. Yet more guns are bought and zero being done. It's down right pathetic..Whether it's a Dem or Rep in office "my heart goes out to the families..." yada yada.. All talk, little to no action...
Nothing useful to say. Just sad for the families
And he killed his grandmother before going to the school?
I knew the shooter wasn't white when they said he was dead but yeah... Salvador, probably Hispanic.
It's sad how f*cking predictable this all is

Well, at least there is one thing new about this one. I don't even know why I bother mentioning it, nothing will change, no one will do anything. Just more watering of the tree of liberty.

If only we cared more about everyone's lives than we do about some people's desire to own bang bangs.
Gun owners going to the range or going on a hunting trip this weekend should be immensely proud that their hobby--and the policies that make it possible--is way more important than a school full of dead children and destroyed families.
Right wing ghouls are trying to pin the shooting on some random trans teen who posted selfies to reddit this morning. The fact that they’re still posting on reddit despite the shooter being dead doesn’t seem to be an issue.

Cannot express my opinion about Gosar without catching a temp ban. "Beneath comtempt" doesn't even scratch the service.
And he killed his grandmother before going to the school?
The most recent thing I've seen said she's still alive, but in critical condition.
Again, all the headlines this morning are updated death tolls and "police are investigating potential motive".
We are chasing after the fact rather than getting ahead of the issue by like, oh, I don't know, universal background checks...
I heard another expert yesterday talking about stolen/ghost guns which are a problem no doubt. But they spewed something like 60% of XYZ is caused by stolen guns... Well, we need to do something about the 40% too! Ghost gun talk both dilutes the issue and distracts from solution implementation.
Lets put 2 and 2 together here. 400 million guns, and lets say as little as 10% cause crime/harm. (I'd love to see numbers on that since guns are designed for lethality. Its gotta be much higher)
To the point 10% is 40 million and 40% of that is 16 million crimes/harm averted annually. I know this is out my ass math but how much less does it have to be to lose its significance? Less than a million? ( .25% ?)
And we aren't even going down the rabbit hole of how much guns bring unnecessary escalation...

Exactly.
If we don't address the absurdity of the ease with which a troubled 18 year old purchased two AR-15s, the hunt for motive is meaningless.
But if access to guns isn't easy how are the police going to justify killing so many people? They won't be able to say "I thought he had a gun" anymore.
I think it is safe to say they will still get away with that...
Yeah seen plenty of the deflection to mental health online too. Fine then, medicare for all immediately, and mental health included.
But GOP won't go for that either.
