Amoebic's GWJ Fiasco Scheduling Catch-All

Scroll up links to the ones I'm interested in are above. Halloween the day after anyone?

Just putting that I'm definitely interested in this, although my wife is getting back surgery next week so my evenings are going to be a bit hectic for the next few weeks. After that though I should be game.

I think that the timing speaks for itself. I vote for Camp Death.

Would 5PM PST/8PM EST be a better start time for folks?

That would let me get in half an hour of Destiny 2 first, or 17 rounds of PUBG. I'm good either way.

No preference on my part!

Well this looks interesting. Tagging in to see what happens

Ooooo... Time to watch Madman on Amazon Prime to get in the mood :D. I've never seen this movie before!

How does observing watch for now? Just log into Roll20 and Twitch and mute my mic? (This may be a silly and ridiculous question, because I have never used Twitch for anything, passive or active.)

Twitch errors, so hop in the channels for now

So that others can find playsets that strike their fancy, Fiasco Playsets contains a huge number of them.

A few notes about play sessions so far:

-Scenes should only be a few minutes long per person. Sometimes hashing things out can take time, so do keep the bits you DO know short and sweet and to the point. I think I'm actually going to keep a kitchen timer that can do two whole minutes so that we can have a clear signal on when to wrap it up.

-There's going to be table talk, and that's expected, but if it's gone on for too long I think anyone at any time can call out TIMER and we can start the timer on that, too. Since I host, I will likely be the one doing it the most and I embrace this.

-If the opportunity presents itself to do something cool, go for it.

-You don't HAVE to voice act and dialogue out every scene. If you wish, you may merely dictate your part in the scene and ask the other players to dictate their part if you are more comfortable with that. These can sometimes be quicker, too.

The first hour was fun to listen to, if a little fuzzy (in terms of understanding, not call quality) for me who has never played before. I think it was very much like watching an actual game in person - the players are there for the game, not to explain it to new players or the audience. To be clear, that's not a criticism or even a critique - just an observation.

Having browsed through the rulebook, I still wasn't 100% clear on what was going on, but when I returned to it this morning after listening to the process it made a lot more sense.

I look forward to popping in on future events too, and getting involved at some point in the future.

Thanks for having me last week!! It was a lot of fun! I was looking forward to a new type of collaborative storytelling experience and this definitely fit that description.

The end game still was a bit fuzzy for me and I felt I wasn't as adept at hopping on the storyline trains other players were establishing in the second act. My buzzkill character was trying to herd cats the entire game so I guess that kinda fits :). At any rate, was lots of fun!!

In an attempt to help out anyone who hasn't played Fiasco before, as well as try to explain how we are adopting Fiasco to the online space, I made a not-so-brief (it turned out to be 20 minutes, sorry) intro video walking through pretty much everything from "What is Fiasco" to endgame, with some detailed explanations of mechanics as well as examples (and plenty of screw ups!). If it helps at least one person decide to come play, it was time well spent.

Do we have an idea of what we'd like to play tomorrow?

I figure we can pick from the list to the right of the signups on the spreadsheet - looks like it might just be three of us, so we've got some time to hash it out before we get started. I'd like to give the one Disco penned a go if he's up for it. If not I'm pretty easygoing for anything you might be willing to try?

Disco, I meant to say this in Overwatch chat the other night; great job with that Fiasco video up above. Also, which of the playsets are you looking at, Spirit Breakers? The stars may be aligning that I can make it a fourth. I still need to pick up the Fiasco manual, but can swing by the FLGS over lunch and pick it up.

I can also, I think, be a potential fourth. Regardless, I'll probably stop by and listen, at least for the setup, as long as I don't offend by heading out mid-game if I'm not involved.

I've played the last three times. How about you both be the fourth? I'll wait in the "wings" and see if my brainchild is worth anything.

And, yes, Spirit Breakers is the playset Amoebic was referencing.

Disco, you should stay in. I am a firm "iffy" at this point, which is why I didn't sign up. Depends on what my son has going on/needs help with, as my wife is working until 10:00 cst.

Likewise Feegle, if you know you are free, by all means take the spot. I will lurk as much as I am able.

I am also a firm "iffy." I'll do my best, but by no means wait for me - if my boys go down to bed nicely and my wife's feeling better, then I'll be there.

It sounds like it may be best for you guys to go ahead as planned, and if/when BH and I drop by, we can make adjustments to who's playing before things get rolling.

I am free to play tonight. but ONLY if no one else can fill in that 4th spot. Really want to see more folks playing.

I'm going to try to twitch stream this session. Now that my drivers are behaving and my resolution issues seemingly resolved, we'll see how this goes!

Well I am a firm yes! for tonight. Reading up on the rules and watching Discoursian's video.

I am a lurker at best, tonight. Just got home. I promise to jump in one of these sessions!

Be glad I backed out. My dog got sprayed by a damn skunk and I have been dealing with that the past half hour.

Spirit Breakers!

Upon replay = my volume in twitch chat seemed fine, but in the recording here is very low. Apologies!
Twitch Recording.

That was a lot of fun. I am not sure I was quite prepared for such a Fawlty-Towers-does-Ghostbusters atmosphere, but I quite enjoyed the over-the-top comedy.
