Elex Sci-fi All

Anyone playing this recently? It's on sale and I am wondering at its current state.

It got very stable fairly shortly after it came out, for me. The dev’s have been pretty active with updates but I haven’t touched it since 2017.

I wondered the same since Steam has it for $20 now. I have been interested since I heard about it, but I never played any of the Gothic games so I am not sure what to expect.

I dipped back into it a couple weeks ago. It’s significantly more stable and load times are quick, but it’s fundamentally still the same game- it’s mechanically very uneven, combat is pretty simplistic, and you feel drastically underpowered for the first 15-20 character levels. I like it but it’s not for everyone.

I loved Elex but I'm an old-school Gothic fan and knew what I was getting into.

If you haven't played any Gothic games, go grab Gothic II. If you mod it up, it won't hurt your eyes and the story & gameplay still hold up. I think it's an all time classic but Piranha Bytes works are true marmite games, you will either fall in love before you get to the first town or quit and never come back to it again.

I really enjoyed Elex. It has its rough edges, but it was a good 20-30 hours of entertainment.

Went through this on PS4, remember cheating a bit and just running through 2 converters past all the red skull guards for the goodies up top...took me a few goes though.

Do like it when you can outwit a game and I liked the weird variety of stuff they put in, one minute you find a serious audio log of someone crying at the end of the world then next its set of D&D player character stats.

Did have a lot of pop up on PS4 though, and I did have to re-install the game after it froze once.

Got this for £9 on steam. Digging the old school rich RPG ness. This has a depth that a lot of modern RPGS lack.

I just visited a remote farm and stole all their toilet paper.

I might be the only person in the world that unabashedly loves ELEX. Ended up going with a plasma rifle build that stun locks every enemy in the game. That is not an exaggeration.

Not at all, had 2 full playthroughs and really looking forward to Elex 2!!

Update. Just stole a cigarette from a corpses mouth.

That's a very specific fetish, but I'm not here to yuck your yum.

Yes. Good.

Noice. They didn't get the diversity memo, but nice otherwise.

this year!!

Rumour is the jetpack will allow you to fly instead of just hover.

Looking good.

I wonder if it's possible for the main character to develop a personality or even some hair.

Ooh- how about a hair-based morality system. He starts out bald but his hair grows into a variety of cuts based on your choices within the game, and the further down a particular path you go the longer your hair grows. Max out your cold rating and you’re walking around with a pompadour that’s like twice the height of your character.

Depends on how much Elex is still in his system.
