2018 NBA Catch-All - LeBron Fallout Edition

The game went pretty much like I expected. Green should have been tossed.

Absolutely he should have. Unfortunately, they still would have beaten us.

Terry Rozier not going to let Lebron goaltend.

Loving this 3rd quarter.

My thoughts watching the Cavs go down 2-0.

1. The Raptors must be in their feelings.

2. Some small market team is gonna regret giving Terry Rozier $18m per year.

3. Celtics are gonna have some crazy salary cap issues in a few years. Hayward and Irving get maxes, probably Tatum as well in 3 years. What is Smart gonna command? Brown? Whoever they draft in the lottery next year?

Did anyone expect the Celtics to dominate these games like this? They are embarrassing the Cavs this series!

Seems like one guy scoring 40 is not a winning strategy in the conference finals. Teams > star.

Maybe the Bucks are closer than I thought. Halfway decent coaching and they beat the Celtics in round one.

I have limited viewing of the Bucks but from what I have seen, they have a ton of talent/upside.

They have a young, generational unicorn talent in Giannis, some interesting support players in Middleton and Brogdon, and question marks everywhere else from scheme to questionable intelligence to horrendous, cap-crippling/limited contracts, and a bungling group of owners who have meddled and F'd up most every hire they have made to date in both process and choice. A frustrating watch based on what could be and what is.

So that happened. Celtics going to the finals is a legit possibility, and without their two best players! Who would have thought. Assuming they stay together and healthy they are going to be a juggernaut next year.

Fightin' Texas Aggie Khris Middleton, btw!

Awfully quiet in here...

That was quite possibly the most boring game I’ve ever seen. Boring play. Boring crowd. Boring announcers.

Yeah, the Van Gundy / Jackson shtick is wearing a bit thin these days. Probably time to break them up next season.

Boring result? I'm worried that were going to somehow end up with competitive series' that lack any actual competitive games...

Boring result. Boring game. At least when the Celtics were blowing out the Cavs it was exciting to watch a young, ascendant team jelling.

There’s nothing exciting (to me) about watching LeBron drag around this group of guys that can’t stand each other. A group of guys for whom LeBron is apparently so toxic as a teammate that over half the team was traded and their second best player and coach both took extended leaves of absence to deal with the stress of playing with LeBron.

But it was also just boring wall-to-wall. The crowd seemed bored. The announcers seemed bored. It was just boring.

I agree. Buddy of mine texted me lamenting the NBA lacking a Romo or Collinsworth type analyst. Someone who understands and cares about the strategy of the NBA. I would concur.

Curry just missed 2 open 3s, back to back. This is going from abnormal to weird.

Yet they're still killing us.

Missed the 1st quarter but enjoying the score so far.

Seems he's got his rhythm back.

It's all but over

3rd quarter takeover whee.

Where were all you guys on Wednesday?

You talk a lot of sh*t for someone that didn't post in the thread until well into the playoffs.

Eh, I kind of get it. I've lurked a bit throughout the season, but it's playoff time when interest peaks a bit more. It's the only time of year when I bother with a league pass. I expect a good number of others are the same.

That said, I'm not American and don't have a one team to get behind. I enjoy watching the Warriors and what they have done with speed, smaller size and ball movement. I like that it (at least feels like it) opens up basketball a bit more. Still, while I want to see them win, I'd rather them just not stroll through everything like happened last year.

( I won't pretend I didn't enjoy that particular blowout, though, if only because it was a relief to see Curry start raining fire again in the second half)

Yeah, with so many games and a playoff system the regular season in the NBA/NHL/MLB is a glorified exhibition. The marginal value of any one game is so low they're pretty much meaningless. Only following things closely when stuff actually matters makes sense if you don't have oodles of time. There's a lot of good entertainment out there to spend free time on.

1) Hey, this thread has more playoff posts than pre-playoff posts, so I guess I'm not the only one with more to say in the post - season. Also, you appear to have one more pre-playoff post than me; congratulations, you win!

2) Do I talk a lot of ish, though? I made one post poking fun at the fact that I was the lone poster on the night the Rockets won. I'm up to my neck in haters, man, and I'm keeping my good-natured sense of humor about it. Let's all try and do likewise!

Fed, I didn’t post because I didn’t see the game. If I had seen it I would have likely been posting, because it looked like that kind of Houston game where they don’t play ISO ball the whole game. They’re so much more fun to watch when they run an offense.

Believe me, you're right, Game 2 was easily the most fun to watch of this series so far!
