He resigned.

Leonard Fournette is not like us:

So good that it's a shame he plays for Jacksonville where the DBs ended up with more receiving yards and TDs than the WRs.

Also this:

Fournette waving on Mike Mitchell for the hit was the best thing I saw yesterday.

Also...

BLAKE BORTLES WORLD TOUR 2017, WEEK 5: POUNDING PITTSBURGH: 36-of-36 handoffs, 0 fumbles!

Probably good routes by his WRs.

Best thing I saw...

Adams alive

Fresno State says you're welcome.

Ex-Bucs kicker Patrick Murray signed to be the Bucs' next ex-kicker.

Can't see any issue with signing a kicker whose last (and only) full time gig was 2014.

I guess that one field goal he kicked for Cleveland last year must have been impressive.

Let's pump the brakes for a minute. Those numbers are completely unsustainable.

Newton has been questioned on his "football maturity" recently. Last week's press incident and losing sponsors, as a result, didn't help.

This could have been an "I'll show you" game.

Sholy hit. I didn't watch the game but I'm a Steelers fan who works for his alma mater and, criminy, that was awful. I'd wonder if part of it was that he was forcing it to Antonio Brown after the blow-up last week but that seems to happen every other game so who knows.

I really liked that a rookie QB hung 5 TDs on KC's defense last night and still lost by a wide margin. For some reason.

Not to mention the Lions' blown coverages. I mean, when all of the Panthers WRs and TEs from Sunday combined for something like 30 catches combined last season, it's just easier not to cover any of 'em, I guess.

Anyway, guess we'll all have to watch Thursday night's game. Two 4-1 teams? Sign me up.

P.S. Yes, Cam has been playing out of his mind the past six quarters. Believe your lying eyes!

Thats the thing with football. Last week I thought he might be done for the season. Comes back with 2 TDs.

Injury updates

OBJ: Out for season with broken ankle
JJ Watt: Out for season with fractured tibia
Brandon Marshall: Out for season with ankle injury
Chris Conley: Out for season with ruptured Achilles
Charles Clay: Out "multiple weeks" following knee scope
Travis Kelce: In concussion protocol
DeVante Parker: week 6 status unknown following minor ankle sprain
Mike Pence: day-to-day with hurt fee-fees

If Jacksonville wins the division is it;

B. Cats and Dogs living together! Mass Hysteria!
C. All of the above.

It's the AFC South; I'm pretty sure all it means is they face the Calgary Stampeders on the first round of the playoffs.

Corpse of Adrian Peterson traded to Arizona Cardinals for a conditional draft pick. I figured he'd be gone from the Saints after four games; I was completely wrong. He made it five.

It's gonna work... as long as Leonard Fournette is healthy. One injury there and it all falls apart.

Fournette and Ezekiel Elliott have sure kicked that whole "you don't draft running backs high anymore" thing in the teeth. Turns out you do draft RBs high, you just don't draft Trent Richardson.

...

Have to admit, this one made me laugh.

Man, quarterbacks are getting beat up.

Sam Bradford aggravated a bone bruise against Chicago.
Tom Brady has an AC joint sprain in his non-throwing shoulder.
Matt Stafford has hamstring and ankle injuries which may threaten to linger as the season goes.

Blake Bortles feels great though.

He needs to make sure he takes a page out of Cutlers playbook and not any over ambitious QBs (names are escaping me) and start throwing blocks.

My only quip:

This has been helped along by a generation of quarterbacks aging gracefully—Tom Brady, Drew Brees, and Ben Roethlisberger among them—in addition to the league putting an emphasis on defensive penalties to allow more passing and a parade of talented skill-position players throughout the league.

I'm not sure how well Ben is ageing actually. The cliff might have arrived. Even if it hasn't graceful isn't how I would describe it.

Oh man, can't believe someone didn't post this:

Jeez what happened? Did he carry too much of the Vikings offense or what?

He turned 30, which is the year of death for RB careers. Nothing happened specifically, he just got old.
