NHL 2017-18

Calling in "The Jinx." Hey a team from Canada might win the Stanley Cup.

Capitals are beating up the Lightning this series!

Congrats to the Capitals *grumble*

Hockey gods (trying not to laugh): You said in existence, right?

Real defensive battle we got going on in Game 1, isn't it?

Caps got a little lucky in G2 IMHO, but we need to play a little better. Not skating to puck in our zone and not picking up guys. We also got pass happy (shoot the puck!), which happens to us from time to time. Fortunately, it usually gets corrected the next game. Think we're going to make some corrections & steal some in DC though.

Go Knights Go!

Knights in 5?

That save shattered my reality.

Game 4 tonight. So crucial. Knights need to step it up. They have been looking a step behind the Capitals sadly.

That game 2 save at the end was epic. Boooo.

I thought for sure that Kooz was hurt worse than that. I mean, how could he not be? Did they just replace him with another Russian robot?

Given playoff injury history it’s as bad as you think and he’s playing with many painkillers and will require six different forms of offseason surgery.

Funny. In an interview after game 2, he was asked what he thought about the hit and he said "It's playoff hockey".

It’s pretty horrific what these guys subject themselves to. Almost guaranteed that at least one player in this series will be out until a few months into next season due to surgery.

Vegas is playing better than my Caps except for Fleury. What is going on with him this series? Is he just out of gas?

Maybe someone has some advanced stats that say otherwise but Fluery has always been up and down.

If you could set your clock to him he would probably still be in Pittsburgh.

Not too familiar with how well he can bounce back. This could still easily go 7 as it's the Nhl.

Looks like I won't get out of class until 8:30 so I will likely miss all the Medieval Times crap. Hope I don't miss too much of the game though.

Wow, just wow! I wonder if I can bring my newborn to a champion ship parade? I need more red shirts!

The Caps losing to a team that didn't exist last year would've been much, much funnier, but Ovie deserves this one. Congrats to the Caps!

It's really great to see Ovechkin win one.

Agreed, he was already a legend. This is wonderful.

I was screaming until the Oshie interview, and maybe cried a little. sh*t. I am so goddamn happy for this team. Their not my "main" but Holtby has been a fav since he broke into the scene and how can you not love Ovie??

I'm so f*cking glad Ovie got one before going full grey I mean damn.

Nicely done, Vegas. (Hard to see, but NSFW.)

I have been laughing for a solid 30 seconds.

TJ Oshie is a big reason I really started to love hockey. When the Blues were rebuilding, his play on their Kid Line was something that lit up the arena. I was so bummed when he was traded. I think expectations for him here in St. Louis just became unreasonable, and folks failed to see the value in what he did bring.

So freaking happy for him. Wish he could come back to St. Louis someday.

Nice to see that the Caps fans travel well.

I have to admit they surprised me. I thought for sure that the Caps would be coming back to DC empty handed. This was especially true after the first couple "pings" off the posts. That said, it is pretty clear they saved their best hockey for last as that was a really inspired effort by everyone.

Thanks Vegas and your fans. And don't be too dejected. You folks will be back before too long.

I am so happy for the Caps! Those last 7 minutes of the game were so gut wrenching. Please don't blow it, please don't blow it. When the game finally ended my daughter and I jumped up screaming and doing high fives. We have seen so many of the Caps play on the Hershey Bears the past 8 years, it is amazing to see them as NHL'ers and now Stanley Cup winners.

If you haven't been paying attention, please direct your attention to Dan Steinberg's Twitter for amazing videos of the Caps celebrations, including drunk Ovechkin, TJ Oshie taking a shot through his shirt, drunk Ovechkin in a fountain, TJ Oshie literally buying a shirt off a man's back, drunk Ovechkin having no idea how to throw a pitch, a lot of screaming, and drunk Ovechkin.

It's spectacular.

Happy for those Capitals fans. Lots of long suffering fan bases are getting championships.

The only mean comment I have seen so far was from an LA kings fan who wrote:

“Thank god the caps won. I don’t think I could stand the sight of some cardboard armor wearing neckbeard throwing a turkey leg on the ice.”

When I saw this thread being bumped, I assumed the was more footage of the Capitals drunken celebration that is still going on. Ovie might still be drunk when training camp starts.
