Mmmmmm SciFi-FPS-RPG-OpenWorld burrito. Looks delish!

I think that game just surpassed everything else on my watch list to take the top spot.

re: Far Cry - You can scritch a wart-hog.

Damn, Outer Worlds looks sweet.

Those character facial animations and emotes look incredible.

Rage 2 looks so so good and is way higher on my list than Far Cry. Why? The vehicles.

I'm in the middle of Mad Max and Avalanche nailed the vehicle combat. Swap the Arkham ping-pong third-person combat with some good first-person shooty shoot and I just can't wait for this game.

Gonna just throw two trailers per post since otherwise this page would load like a 10-second baby-dance from 1997 dial-up.

Psychonauts 2

Honestly? Just makes me wish Brutal Legend 2 could happen.

The Last Campfire

Very reminiscent of Journey in its characters, just more squat.

Scavengers

I can't remember if this is the one the developer described as "co-opetitive" or not. One of these games had teams of four co-operating to beat other teams of four or something.

Hades

Yo I heard you guys like them Supergiant Games. Well, if you needed an excuse to try out Epic's new Steam competitor, they got it in early access there.

Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey

Have you ever wanted to play the opening minutes of 2001: A Space Odyssey in video game form? Evidently the creator of Assassin's Creed did.

Mortal Kombat 11

The Pathless

I don't know if it's coincidence or direct inspiration, but the creators of Abzu look to be trying their hand at making a Breath of the Wild type of game.

Crash Team Racing Remastered

Speaking of Christmas memories, the year I got a PlayStation I knew I had given up the opportunity for an N64, so I asked for Crash Team Racing to make up for the lack of Mario Kart 64. My dad saw "racing" and thought "Hey, I work for Subaru, and there's a Subaru on the cover of Need for Speed: V-Rally, which is a racing game! I'll get him THIS for Christmas!"

Talk about disappointment.

Of course, now I have Mario Kart 8, so...

Lastly, Journey to the Savage Planet

Developer described it as an "adventure" game, though don't know if they meant point-and-click or open-world game without a rogue/souls-like gimmick.

Biomutant - Gameplay Sizzle

I keep trying to decide if Rage 2 would be better off with a different title that didn't link it to the original Rage at all. That game was so, so bland.

Yup. I was grinning through the whole trailer.

Far Cry New Dawn: Post-Apocalyptic Gameplay and Character Details
* I like the idea but I always have a hard time with these post-apocalypse worlds. They say it has been 13 years after the bombs dropped....Who maintains the helicopter? Who is a good enough mechanic to be doing all the car maintenance? Where do they find parts?

I need an Xbox One release of this stat.

It’s on PC as well. Don’t think it takes much of a machine to run.

From the creator of Pony Island (which is in the top 5 weird but great games I've played and in such good company as Frog Fractions and Plug & Play). I haven't tried it yet but Jim Sterling's video on it makes me want to.

PC is a last resort and often not even then for me. /MacUser /NotReallySoMuchAnymore

I get it. I used to live that life. With any luck it is successful enough that they port it to other consoles.

Devolver Digital is usually good about getting the games they publish on as many platforms as they can.

I am much more interested in Mechwarrior: Mercenaries 5 now. I like this gameplay.

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries - MechCon 2018 Demo Gameplay

Oh swell, another merc company to grind up.

What's Your Game Of The Year 2018?

I am a sucker for these list videos....

New story trailer for Control.

LOL

(Switches to English subs about 25 sec in.)

Was that trailer trying to spin it as if people started to enjoy it once they got the sound?

Because while that may be true, the primary response I've seen is that it's still an awful game even when you have sound, and is as predictable or worse once you get the full context of what's going on.

Haha, that's amazing. The thumbs down flipping to a thumbs up halfway through got me.

I think this trailer shows that they're aware of how poor the reception is and are choosing to leaning into it instead of pushing back like most companies do with their terrible games.

I mean, there have been a LOT of streamers hate-playing the game because they've heard how baffling it is. I would not be surprised if more people are buying this game specifically because it's so baffling than they would otherwise. In a case like this, negative attention is better than no attention.
