I was hoping we'd get a new 2D Zelda adventure sometime, with my expectation being most likely some sort of remake of Link to the Past using the engine/graphics developed for Link's Awakening "3D" on the Switch.

This was an even better surprise, and I'm incredibly excited with the gameplay we saw in that trailer!

I love the esthetic but I am not a big building things sim fan. But I have a long time to watch it and see if it pulls me in.

The aesthetics are really cool, but do I really want to be placing chairs in an infinite procedural city?
(I know nothing about the game, I'm just reacting and making inferences based on what the trailer is telling me.)

Do you want to play a procedural game where you just drift around and have nothing to do but gawk and maybe run fetch-quests? Walking sims are great, but having a business is a good way to immerse the player into the society and rhythms of a game, outside of the major storyline, I believe. Pretty sure there's more to it, but that aspect seems like a reasonable element of an open world game.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn - Official 20 Minutes of Gameplay

A lot more jumping around than I expected.

Looks like a lot of fun!

Ys X: Nordics - Release Date Announcement Trailer

Housemarque vibes from this one & out early August, looks so damn slick with excellent visuals.

Oh heck yeah. Definitely Housemarque vibes. I am down, that looks fantastic.

Sidenote: Spike, I played Resogun for the first time in ages the other day. Your scores on my leaderboard are out of bounds. Like...not even remotely close to anything I'd mustered or, for that matter any of my other friends list people.

It really does, is rare that any dev hits the quality mark in an arcade shooter like Housemarque with both gameplay & visuals but Cygni has the potential.

Ahhhh Resogun one of my all time favourite games & best launch game for a console ever! I think I've put about 170 hours into Resogun, I mastered the boost to a large extent which meant I could keep the score combo going by getting to enemies on the other side of the map, before it reset. I also got really good at weaving in & out of all enemy bullets & lasers, especially when the revenge bullets came on in some of the game modes.

I did get pretty high scores but it took a long time learning all the systems of the game. Things like the little explosion after you finish a boost is a great way to take out larger enemies or a whole group. Timing your overdrive to when the screen is filled with enemies & I think not using bombs increases your score multiplier (although I might be wrong on that).

I'm so glad your playing Resogun Garth, if you ever want to co-op give me a shout!
