Some recent talk over on the iOS game thread got me thinking about how much technology we cart around with us on a daily basis.
Interested in seeing what all the other goodjer's think is worth dragging around with them.
I think you meant to post this in this forum.
I mean, I know the iPhone vs. Android arguments have gotten pretty heated, but not D&D heated yet.
I'm pretty lean overall I think.
Daily Commute:
iPhone 6 (always)
iPhone SE (always)
iPad Pro (always)
Surface Pro (sometimes)
Things to note: I don't need to lug a laptop back and forth anymore. The Surface is a (mostly) very capable pc when I need it. However, between my home pc, Office 365, and my iPad, I rarely need to bring a pc back and forth at all.
Travel:
iPhone 6
iPhone SE
iPad Pro
Kindle Paperwhite
Nintendo 3DS
Things to note: I no longer travel with a seperate MP3 player, GPS, or DSLR. The Kindle only travels when I'm going someplace where I plan to read outdoors as all of my indoor reading is now done on my iPad. I also used to bring my Surface for movies, but the combo of the iPad Pro storage and Netflix/Amazon apps allowing offline downloads has removed that device.
I'm running out of games for the 3DS, but I hope to replace it with a Switch someday.
Most of my gear is hardware oriented...
EDC Bag
Acer Aspire 12" Alpha
Crimper+crimps/wirenuts
XLR and Cat5 connectors
PVC blade
Soldering iron
Misc tool roll
Personal
Headlamp
Belt sheath holds: Leatherman Crunch, wire strippers, flashlight, 2 velcro straps, lighter(heat shrink), mini-pencil
Samsung S7 w/ acoustic meter and the uber-important "Job is DONE" video sent to my cloud drive as well as the designer's email. It might take me 2 hours, it might take me 2 days but so long as the home owner signs off on it then my job is DONE
I'll just quote myself to start:
I carry an iPod Touch, an iPhone, a 3DS, a Vita and a Kindle Paperwhite. Lucky I always have my shoulder bag!
...
My work schedule often has me out from 7 to 10, but with some breaks during the day. So, my only free time for entertainment is really when I'm out and about. When I'm at home, I'm eating, sleeping, or trying to keep up with chores.
...
The iPod Touch is an older model and can't do much but listen to podcasts and music (of which I do a lot). I used to use it for some other things when I only had a flip phone. Anyway, it gets some rough treatment (always plugging and unplugging the headphones, occasionally dropping it) so I figure I may as well use it to reduce the wear and tear on my phone.
I prefer to read on the Kindle's e-ink screen but I'll read on the iPhone in a punch. If I need some room in my bag, the 3DS is the first thing to go. The Vita is actually my goto device for watching videos, as well as playing games. Decent size and quality screen and I have the 64GB memory card so space isn't really an issue.
Man, you people need a lifestyle Feng Shui consultation.
I have:
Phone - Samsung Galaxy A5
Daily Commute:
Tumbling haphazardly around my bag:
Samsung Galaxy Note 5 (+charging cable & fast-charging AC wall adapter)
Logiix Piston Power Pro 6000
Nestled with dice in a small cloth bag inside the Bag of Haphazard:
Monster Digital 32gb Mobile Drive Mini 3.0
IOGEAR GBU521 USB Bluetooth 4.0 Micro Adapter
Long-form travel:
All of the above, with the addition of:
DELL Inspiron i7559 Laptop
Logitech M325 Wireless Mouse
Logitech Wireless Headset H600
Yes, the matching headset and mouse was a conscious choice. No, I don't want to hear opinions about gear I should have that could be better. I have what I have and I like it.

You're nuts :p.

Heh, I carry my iPhone daily and that is it. If I think I'll be somewhere I have to wait around in the car I might bring my Kindle. That is it unless there is a special occasion like an out-of-town trip.
Daily Basis?
Samsung S8+
Surface Pro
This is all the somewhat tech-related stuff, it doesn't include non-tech things.
Pockets:
Two phones, Victorinox SwissTool Spirit X, 2FA tokens.
Daily commute:
In backpack:
Laptop, 4-port USB charger, several USB and video cables, USB hub with self-retracting cable, several USB memory sticks, portable surge protector, LED flashlight, tweezers, Anker portable battery with USB ports and DC ports for recharging the laptop, bottle of ibuprofen (yes, that's a tech item :p), wired mouse, microfiber cloth. Anything with a cable is tied up with velcro.
In car:
Rechargeable flashlight, Anker solar-powered USB charger, CAT5 cables, extendable magnetic pick-up tool, power inverter.
When travelling, the backpack gets more items added to it:
2nd laptop (depending on job), foreign AC outlet adapter, over-the-ears Sennheiser headphones, Pepto, Benadryl. The pocketknife gets left at home so I don't accidentally try to bring it on a plane.
My daily is:
Personal phone
Work laptop
Switch (or 3ds)
Big headphones
Bluetooth earbuds
Kindle
iPad
On WFH days, add another tablet and two more phones.
HTC 10 and Astell & Kern AK70
I'm pretty minimalist. I carry my Note5 on a daily basis and that's it. (To really horrify you, I have my car key and two other keys on my keychain, that's it)

I'm a minemalist in all pocket carried things. I have a Keydisk with 4 keys and a Tribe wallet with about 5 cards in it. I hate having stuff crowding my pockets. My bag is a different story...
Oh my gosh, thank you for sharing keydisk!!
I got that beat. My key ring has a car key and a single house key on it. The carabiner and bottle opener take up more space. Unfortunately, I can't shrink it because the car key is huge.
The Tribe wallet looks cool, but I can't justify that price.
I carry a single house key in my wallet. Do I win :).
So I'm a pack rat. I generally have a vita, 3ds, kindle paper white, iPhone 6, mess of cables for each and drawing pad with cheap colored pencils. Sharpies too.
Of course, the next step of this thread is "What bag to you carry all your stuff in?"
After weeding my collection of bags pretty thoroughly for the recent move, I'm down to three:
A Timbuk2 Custom Classic Messenger that I've had for a good 10-12 years now. I went with the custom option because at the time it was the only way to buy a Timbuk2 bag that wasn't made in China. I don't know how well they're making them now, but mine has a couple of tears in the lining but is otherwise aging very gracefully.
I was bike commuting to grad school when I got it, and still use it as my casual, out-and-about bag, with a Nite-Ize phone holster clipped onto the strap.
My briefcase these days is a Duluth Pack Field Satchel in all black (which for some reason they call "Great Lakes"). This bag is just big enough to hold my MacBook Air, some papers, and a travel mug, plus it has a side pocket that's nicely sized for my iPhone 7.
The third bag is a Tom Bihn Smart Alec. I haven't used it much lately because I seldom need to carry more than will fit in the field satchel, but it'll hold a lot comfortably and keep it all organized, too.
I've got a Goruck GR1. It's feature-light, with only a few different pockets, but that's kind of a feature by itself. The company that makes it is mostly former special forces, and wanted to build a bag to those standards, so the thing is built to withstand essentially everything, and so far, it has. It holds way more than you'd think it could, without getting all bulgy, and is still comfy to wear. I've had this one for about four years now, had it submerged in water, dragged through mud and sand while loaded with 40+ pounds, as a daypack on hikes, and as my every day work bag, and it still looks brand new.
The only thing I'd change is that I got one with a tan digital camouflage, which I like the look of, but I've gotten asked if I was military a few times, and I feel bad about that. I might pick up the next size down in black to use for every day, and for my wife when out hiking.
