Nintendo Switch Catch-All 2.0

But, but, there's heavy aliasing!

I've been making a feeble attempt to talk myself out of buying this... That article isn't helping!

Yep, as soon as I opened the demo I was convinced to buy it. So cute!

My son and I are so excited to play this game! All he wants to do is play the demo.

So I bit the bullet and am now a Switch owner, my first real Nintendo console since the original NES. I got a sweet deal on a Belgian E-Bay style site: €300 for a Switch in mint condition and still under guarantee until December, Mario Odyssey, FIFA 18 and Mario Kart 8. They were very nice to deal with, and helped me transfer their son's account (who apparently is so enamored with Fortnite that his Switch started collecting dust) to my e-mail address - Mario Kart was an e-shop purchase.

To be on the safe side, I factory reset the Switch and tied my own account to the console, than I'll add the other account. If anything ever happens I'll at least only lose Mario Kart and not any other purchases. Thanks again for all the advice regarding these account questions.

Welcome to the fold!

This is where I usually start chanting "One of us"... I'm not sure if that's welcoming or creepy though...

Depends... is it a loud celebratory chant? Or more of a quiet whispering chant? Delivery makes all the difference!

It starts quiet but then slowly gets louder and louder as well as faster and faster.

We did however talk him out of using goat blood, so it’s totally not “creepy” anymore.

If you sacrifice whomever's in those horrible Blue Shields, I'm all for.

Sniper Elite 3 has just been announced as being ported to Switch.

Sniper Elite V2 is being remastered (again) for all consoles and PC, including Switch. So, sounds like Rebellion is all hands on deck getting their games to Switch.

Perhaps Sniper Elite 4 will eventually make it... I hope. It's supposedly the best of the bunch.

Edit: I should mention this is basically a Nintendo Direct by Rebellion.

Behemoth is teasing Castle Crashers on Nintendo Switch and boy howdy am I down for that.

Oh that was so much fun on Steam. Definite double dip

Yep, that's a buy.

Startropics is now available through Switch Online! This was one of my favorites, maybe even my very favorite NES game. How did it age?

- Wow, they waste no time in telling me I'm the only one who can save my uncle. Why is that, exactly? I'm just a kid.

- There sure are a lot of grass skirts here. I suspect this sendup of Polynesian culture wouldn't really fly in a new release today.

- The action is still pretty fun. I always liked the tile-based movement.

It has a few spoilers, but is otherwise an interesting breakdown of the mechanics and history of Startropics.
And I'm actually kinda interested in picking it up.

OK, I'm half an hour into Baba Is You, and I'm now officially telling all of you that have any love whatsoever for a whip-smart puzzle game that will make you laugh out loud with delight to Just Go Buy It.

To borrow a phrase, it's the most innovative puzzle game I've played in years.

It continues to look cute and clever, but something keeps turning me off from it. I see the praise everywhere, but can't seem to muster much interest.

Fair enough. No game is right for everyone.

It's one of those games where I'm finding my time is split 50% experimentation, 40% staring at the screen and thinking, 9% inspired success and 1% accidental success.

At least in the early stages, there's a lot of "I wonder if THIS will work", followed by delight when it does, but probably not quite in the way you anticipated.

Motorsport Manager just launched for Switch and is one sale for $11.99 right now! I haven't ever played it, but it caught my eye when browsing the eShop today. Was looking for something new and different, this might be it!

Motorsport Manager Switch

Bought it for a buck on the iPhone years ago. I know some people get into those management games but I burned out pretty fast. It didn't feel like there was too much meat on the bones.

Baba is You interests me, but not $15 interests.

One of those games I'll pick up when they're 70% off.

Baba is You was definitely worth full price for me. I'm having a blast with the game.

Three more things about Baba is You:

1. Solving puzzles makes you feel smart.

2. While the very beginning is a bit more linear, about an hour or so in, I have many puzzles I could be working on.

3. It's great on the Switch!

Awesome!

My son wants a Nintendo Switch for his 7th birthday this August, but I've really not kept up to date with console news at all for many years. Is the current version of the switch likely to still be 'current' by then? Are new and improved models expected this year that could cause the existing model to fall in price at some point? For Xbox's I see all sorts of versions like X or S or XL or whatever.... is this the case with a Switch too?

Thanks in advance!

There’s only one model at this time. There is speculation among fans that a Switch+ will be announced and released this year, but professional game critics seem to be under the impression that a dock-less Switch will come before an enhanced version.

Konami collections coming this summer. One for arcade, one for Castlevania, one for Contra.

All systems and Steam but I'm buying for Switch for sure.

Who saw that coming?
