Everybody's Golf Catch-All (formerly Hot Shots Golf)

Everybody's Golf is out! Early reviews are solid. Many places are waiting to publish a final review because there is a big online component. I hope we can get some GWJ tournaments.

I've played a few hours and I can tell I'll lose dozens of hours to this game. The game play is as solid as it's every been. It has a lot of RPG elements, which I can see making it more addictive. You level up your golfer, you level up individual clubs, there is a full character creator, you unlock items, animations, and more as you win.

One tip I read that seems to be true is to make sure you turn on "serious mode" for tournaments. I'm not sure all the effects, but it gives you more xp and coins. One common complain is that the game can be grindy and things open up slowly and this xp bonus helps alleviate that.

I hope to see you out on the course!

I must have missed this "serious mode", going to have to look around tomorrow. But really loving it so far.

Hmm...

Played a bit with my daughter today. Lots of fun. Reestablishing the muscle memory to get consistent shots will take some time. Tried to swerve one to the right today, but did the action exactly opposite of what I should have. Stupid trees!

When you choose a tournament you press a button to toggle in serious mode. At the top of the screen it will tell you what to press.

I have this sitting on my desk just waiting to be played. However, with the leveling system on golfers/clubs I don't want to play too much without my wife, outlevel her, and ruin our versus experience. So I'll probably play it a limited amount until she's tired of it and then really jump in more after she doesn't want to play anymore. (Alternatively, if I'm really lucky she'll get into it and play a bunch as well a la Diablo 3.)

I'm pretty sure you can have multiple characters. I think they level independently (not sure on that) so you could have a main and an alt.

I don't think they level independently, I ended up making a second character and then deleting my starting one, all of my progression remained the same. I think all the extra slots is for varied looks.

Edit: I cant seem to find what time daily rankings reset or where to find the actually.

Double edit: it seems like you get rewards following day, and the days reset sometime late evening in my time zone (eastern)

Has anyone managed to play a turf war match?

I played one. There were only two players per team. It was fun and frantic.

Weird, I tried last night few times, the game would automatically pick a course I didn't own (dlc) and then go straight in game and then I just sat in a sceen where I assume players would go, but no one showed for 5 min and I couldn't exit out. Had to restart the game to get out of that sceen.

I did finally manage to play a turf war game, pretty fun, It worked for me when I picked the option when I was already on an online course. I'm currently in rank 5, just finished off the second VS character, still loving it.
Couple shots I'm pretty proud off.

Really want to play this, but my daughter took my PS4 to school with her.

Very nice.

I'm going through rank 4 and it's starting to get a bit challenging. Not winning tournament by 8 strokes anymore.

I played for a little bit last night and made it to Rank 3. Am I doing this wrong or do the Rank 1 and 2 have trouble hitting the ball farther than 170 yards? The 400 yard par 4s required three shots to get to the green.

No your fine, the more you play the farther you'll be able to hit, use Big Air club if you want a bit more distance.

Anyone buy the DLC courses? If you have do they go into the single player tournament rotation?

Didn't realize there was a thread for this. Got my 3rd condor last night, and can finally stop grinding. 3 Revenge VS characters left and Melissa, the last secret character, and I'll have Platinum.

Nicely done! I am still working on the first one. I am only missing the condor and last secret character for trophies.

Only advice I can give is wait for low wind, shoot from between the 2nd and 3rd player-of-the-day statues on the far back left of the tee box, aim over the right side of the cabana, and shoot for ~354 yards on your swing, with triple precision balls.

My second set of custom clubs have a max of 372y, 382 with power mode, but 95% (~354 yards) seemed to be the sweet spot.

You can also hit L2 to see the landing view, and just kinda line that up so the angle matches the wind arrow, give or take. Got the first one the other night, then ground for a few hours with nothing. Hopped on last night, got the last two within about 30 minutes.

Oh, also, do a Rising Shot (down while setting power, up while setting impact). First 2 condors hit the pin and went right in, 3rd was just lucky I clipped the edge of the hole.

I'm still playing casually, its a great game to just relax with. I never had actively tried to get a condor or arbotross =/
