I’m pretty stoked for Tacoma, friends. Exploring games and literature to delve into other people’s memories, relationships and stories is my entire jam right now. This highly-anticipated release from Fullbright, the creators of critically-acclaimed Gone Home, is no exception.

Tacoma is one of those games I knew I should approach with a blackout. The best stories are made better this way. However, I did learn that something happened in a now-empty space station. I’m not terrified yet, but I am a bit weary of the vast, abyssal nature of space.

Tacoma has my pick this week. We’re all going up alone to find out what happened to those people. I can’t wait.

I’ll keep this short and to the point. Of all the awesome coming down the pike this week, Redeemer caught my eye. It’s a post-apocalyptic tale of revenge and redemption that features a hulking, bald, bearded protagonist who must be the envy of even the most be-flanneled denizen of a Portland coffee shop. It first caught my eye at PAX East, and it only looks better now. I’ll be getting it as soon as I have the budget for it.

And if I find out that Redeemer is the name of the main character’s hammer, I’ll buy it sooner.

I know many of you will be excited to finally get your hands on Tacoma this week. Players will be launched into a stylish space station where they will presumably walk around, pick things up, and solve puzzles. Gonna admit, I haven't been following it too closely.

My time will instead be going towards the Final Fantasy XV multiplayer beta. My in-real-meat-space friend and I were both quite partial to the original game as a single-player adventure. Granting us the ability to jump in and slice and dice majestic monsters together is a great way to pull us back into the grand vistas of Lucis.

Walking simulators are like documentaries on Netflix. I want to be into them more, but I rarely ever feel like one when I’m on the couch. Therefore, a walking simulator needs an extra hook to make me actually play it. Tacoma has such a hook: It’s made by the people who made the last walking simulator I played. For that, it gets my GOTW.

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun was my GOTW when it came out on PC, but I mention it again on its console release because it looks like a great port. They’ve put a lot of thought into adapting it for controllers and presenting context-specific options on screen, so that you can plan your stealth accordingly.

Tacoma would totally be the "guitar guy" at a campfire

You forgot to mention Grimoire: Heralds of the Wing Templar on Steam.

It's only been in the making for 23 years. Out Aug 1st, 2017 around 6pm PST

Great, let's add another game to the PC list. Cause it needed more!

TLD leaves Early Access today and will debut the first 2 of 5 story-mode chapters, Wintermute.

Real curious how the devs are going to marry urgent & unforgiving survival gameplay (Sandbox mode) within a sequential narrative structure of Story mode.

Can't wait either way!

** Also excited to see that Shadow Tactics lands on console this week. Man, that game is so incredible.

That is quite the list.

Fidgit Spinner Simulator?

I FEEL SO OLD!!!

This is the s*** that's ruined Steam for actual devs.

I prefer Jim's video. Plenty of laughs.

Slime Rancher just came out of early access today.
