Tour De France 2017 Catch-All

It's time once again for the Tour De France. Is anyone else watching this year?

We are finally watching again here, because we've cut the cord on our cable TV subscription, but NBC sports has seen fit to provide a cycling package we can use, so it's pretty easy this year.

Time trials are generally not the most exciting stage, but we've already had a contender crash out of the race with a broken knee.

This thread is just about as quiet as I expected it would be.

Here's today's take, from the Onion.

That was hilarious. I've been known to watch the Tour de France back in the day, but I haven't tuned into it this year. I do check the thread though.

We watch every year. Try to watch every stage, sometimes twice a day. It's like an obsession in this household.

It's been a some time since I followed the Tour -- where can I find a good catch-up guide to who's who in the peloton these days?

I'll try to stream it some way while working this week. Anyone worth rooting for?

Cannot believe the events at the end of the race today. Shocking!

Right now, the "who's who" seems to correspond to the eliminated-due-to-injury and DQ'd list...

But for cycling news, I would look at http://www.cyclingstage.com/ , http://cyclingfans.com/ or http://www.velonews.com/ for a first overview; then google the folks I wanted more information on.

Glorious TDF. Kick some a** across multiple stages and beautiful scenery, nab some garish jerseys (dem polka dots-- les lolz), and don't get busted for doping.
Gotta love this race.

Wow, didn't expect so many people overseas to watch. My grandfather watches, but I never have. I expect most people who work don't watch because it happens during the day. I forget when it finishes, maybe I'll try and head out to the finish line at the end of the month (if I can brave the crowds).

Oh yikes.

Richie Porte crash - all the ouch, hope he is going to be ok

Some really awful looking crashes this year. Wet roads are scary for a time trial, but worse for the downhill part of a mountain stage.
