The devil is coming September 29th!

Pre-orders are available for xbox and windows store.
Pre-orders for Steam should be available in September.

I haven't been able to get my wife to play a game with me since little big planet. Cuphead looks like something she'd like.

I guess that depends on what you're wife's into and whether Cuphead leans into the whole "punishingly hard, but looks twee" fad. I thought I read it might be.

I've been looking forward to this game for what seems like years. Good to see it finally has a release date.

Obligatory reminder: Never pre-order video games.

I watched some gameplay footage and it didn't look that hard. But yeah if it is punishing it won't work for her.

Obligatory caveat: Unless it comes with rad feelies, like an actual Cuphead hat/mask.

Been waiting for this to come out since forever. I'm glad that they seem to be adding content, just going by the trailer.

That is delightfully off-kilter; love the vintage, cartoon-y art direction. Color me intrigued. Also, it would make for a great anonymous memo on everyone's desk.. ' Effective immediately: don't deal with the devil, cupheads'.

Woooooo!! It is finally coming out. Please be good.

Gameplay!

You can now pre-order on Steam.

Only $20? Nice. I might not wait for a bundle on this one.

I'm really excited for this game, just because of the art, but I'm probably gonna wait for a sale, or at least until I see the reviews.

I watched some gameplay, and I think I may be able to manage the difficulty. I'm glad it's not just a boss rush situation. It doesn't look like there's much slide in the platforming either which is the bane of my existence in Mario games. It actually looks a bit more like Duke Nukem, platforming-wise where you can take your time to a degree. My only complaint with the style is that they don't put some fake vinyl sound or some sort of filter over the music. It's way too clean for the visual style and doesn't feel right. I'll be curious to see if you can mod the music files.

At any rate, I'm excited for it to finally come out in just a little over a week.

+1 to a scratchy 78RPM audio filter. They already exist. The devs just need to implement it.

Maybe they'll have an option to turn it on. If so, I'm gonna be in heaven. This particular boss design from an art perspective and gameplay perspective is just so good (Starts at 1:16).

How amazing would this game be on the Switch? I mean come on!

Looks crazy good. Will have to get it at some point just for the art, even if the gameplay doesn't seem very enjoyable.

I've played Shovel Knight in handheld mode. The D-pad buttons would give me nightmares!

I actually got it this morning on the Switch and love using the analog stick.

In handheld mode that's how I play although I find the precision for moving platforms a bit more difficult. In docked mode it's pro controller all the way.

Well, I ended up going with the version with the soundtrack on Steam.

This is gonna be so good! The soundtrack apparently has 3 hours of music which is crazy.

Only 9 people on my Steam friends list have it listed. That's too low for all the copies I'd like to give out.

We could be Steam friends....

I'm intrigued by this. The art style is fascinating, but the gameplay looks remarkably tough. It IS finally on my wishlist, though I don't know if I'll get around to it any time soon.

The art style makes me want the game the most. So much nostalgia.

I broke down and preordered it.

Curse you and your organizational skills!

This game has me jonesing for some twisted old Max Fleischer cartoons. Here's a good one that likely inspired the game. Betty Boop goes straight to hell...and gives the devil the cold shoulder. Skip forward 3 minutes if you just want to see the Cuphead stuff.
