Infant daughter stole XBox Elite Controller thumb stick. HELP!

Hey all! The baby I made a while back is now tall and curious enough to grab everything she shouldn't. I periodically come home from work to find my Xbox Elite Controller missing pieces or my Astro A4's in the dog food bin (not cool baby). I have told her not to do it but she just acts like she doesn't understand what I am saying. Sometimes she poops in response, which I think is rude.

My question is, does anyone have any baby-proofing tips for gaming gear? Any recommended bins or shelving etc that I should look into? What has worked for you in the past?

Also, should I keep this lil girl or make a new one and hope that one doesn't touch my stuff all the time?

Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best. Can you just store then somewhere that's too high for the baby to reach?

Edit: to elaborate, we found that putting things too high to reach worked until the kids were old enough to understand some drawers/ cabinets were off limits. Basically now we have some cabinets the kids can get in and play with anything in there and some that are off limits. As with all things parenting YMMV

Your opening paragraph is hilarious!

I have also had this issue in the last, thankfully she mostly understands and doesn't mess with any of it. I'd say you just need to go higher or maybe store/charge controlers in a different room?

Also, it's extremely difficult to get an RMA for babies. Ours had some obvious MFG defects (ignored verbal commands, very poor battery life which required constant recharging, even in the middle of the night, serious "leaking" problem which required expensive diaper accessory). Despite these flaws all attempts at return were denied. Buyer beware

I hate putting up shelves (not handy) and she is already trying to climb everything and everyone. I was thinking some fancy cabinet with a lock. I searched "gaming cabinets" and was surprised that there isn't a subclass for this. Damn amazon wants me to by regular shelving like a sucker.

That leaking problem is widespread it seems. And the general smell of it...i mean her, is a constant problem. Why did we do this again?

I was thinking putting it all in my office but my laziness outweighs my desire to play games. If i put those controllers in another room I might as well give my systems away. I would never get up to get them. That is an option though.

The force is weak with me.

The truth is usually funny.

Laugh so you don't cry!

My A4's smell like Pedigree...

I have side tables with drawers next to my couch that I just put them too far back for her to reach or I put them in the drawer.

Are you allowed to glue children to floors so they don't move around? I don't know much about offspring... used to be one (but don't remember it that much), and not planning on having a kid of my own for many years - if ever.

I do have a dog though. I sometimes lock him in the bathroom if he's being bad. Maybe try that? CPS shouldn't get too angry.

She's like all new products, she's just a bit buggy and hard to deal with at first. Give it some time and she'll eventually upgrade into Manageable Child 2.0; at some point they'll release the Teenager OS and you get your life back.

My little girl is two now and listens very well about not touching things anymore, it gets easier!

Getting things where they can't reach or can't get open is really it...I put big heavy boxes in front of my desk drawers for a while.

I think I wrote this opening post. The main thing I've done is just actively keep things out of reach and give her her own replicas. She has an old iPhone and two remote controllers to fiddle with. She knows they aren't the real thing but it has helped.

I sacrificed my old PS3 controller, 2 cable box remotes and a Droid Razer to the tiny goddess and the offerings were not good enough. Just an hour ago she came into my office holding my fully charged PS4 controller. Laughing and having a good ol time.

I hear they start talking at some point.

And then you do it AGAIN.

What has helped me with my daughter is having old peripherals that I keep in the same place but are "hers". Like an old Wiimote steering wheel adapter, some old SNES controllers that aren't hooked up to anything. She's knows they are hers to play with if she wants and have the same interests factor because they are in the same place as daddy's stuff.

Perhaps you need to sequester her away with strong magicks; build a pentagram out of Goldfish crackers and hope it takes a while for her to eat her way out.

Hahaaaa. Thats a good idea. I may use French fries or hexed cherios
