Name that GAME Thread

Speaking of 5 hours with nary a peep...surely I'm not the only one who suffered at the hands of this 8-bit "classic"?

The Tom Sawyer/Moby Dick crossover we’ve all been looking for

Sooo close. You overran the end zone a bit, but I'm inclined to give it to you anyway.

Spoiler:

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, NES

Less Moby Dick crossover, more Tom has a trippy fever dream.

What are the black things? I totally saw whales— just gotta find the white one!

No idea - some sort of underwater hazard that swings back and forth. As a kid I thought they just stole the fire bars from Super Mario Bros and stuck them underwater.

As for the current stumper, clearly it's an early Game Boy RPG of some sort...though the graphics look rough even for that. I'll go with The Legend of Not-To-Scale Overworld Objects.

I was going to say Captain Blur in the Land of the Wavy Lines.

Right system, right genre. New image.

I only owned this game because my older brother did and we were able to wire our gameboys together for some unbelievable co-op.

I missed out on most of the GB generation, but I’ll help keep the thread alive by guessing that it’s some sort of Aladdin game?

Attila the Hun: Gameboy Edition?

Let's move along. It's a gameboy version of a prolific franchise from back in the day. Spoilered answer. Free play!

Spoiler:

Ultima: Runes of Virtue

Red Baron?

Nope! at least I don't think so, maybe it went by a couple different names?

Edit: just checked and red baron came out much later than this one!

Nope, a minute of internet sleuthing revealed to me that this is not Red Baron, even though it kinda looks like it.

Ultima: Runes of Virtue

I gave up and started to do an image search, but

Spoiler:

Ultimately looking at the image URL virtueally runed it for me.

The image oddly refused to pull up in Firefox, but worked fine in Chrome.

I actually supported the (first) kickstarter for the remake of this - Cinemaware's Wings - but it fell far short of its goal.
The second kickstarter made its goal and it's now on Steam.

Actually, it had two of them. Runes of Virtue and Runes of Virtue II

Wings! Of course. The central reason I bugged my dad endlessly (and fruitlessly) to get an Amiga.

I'm just going to assume I guessed right.

I edited the image slightly to remove the answer.

Bangai-O? I know I've played the DS version but that looks like...Dreamcast?

Dreamcast version of Bangai-O it is!

That looks way cooler on the Dreamcast than the DS version. Oversaturdated colors and whatnot!

Such a cool game! I really need to spend some more time with that DS cart I bought for 4 bucks

Ground Control 2?

Probably way off...

That's correct! Not way off at all.

Huh, my guess would have been Supreme Commander. That would have been way off.

I was thinking Planetside. Not even the same genre.

That was a wild shot in the dark. I bought Ground Control II when it came out, but have never played it. Only ever played the demo of GC 1, but liked it enough to get both games.

Anyway, on to an early 2000's PC release with a unique premise, but badly flawed execution.

Two images as I expect this to be tough....meaning someone will get it within 5 minutes.

USA, June 2018?
