That's Layers of Fear! A super creepy game that I never finished, like that painting, and should definitely go back to sometime.

Layers of Fear
Which is by the same dev that is handling the Silent Hill 2 remake. I never played any of their games - how good is Layers? Do I have to worry about SH2?
I last played Layers of Fear in 2016 according to Steam but I remember enjoying it quite a bit. They do some really interesting mind-bending type scary stuff. There's a sequel too but I haven't tried it. I've never actually played a Silent Hill game though so I'm not sure how they would handle it.
This one will probably be pretty easy since the art style is fairly unique but this is a game I had a great time playing when it came out:

If they are sticking to the story and gameplay of SH2 then you shouldn't be worried at all. Layers of Fear was a beautifully creepy game with some pretty impressive effects built in. They should be able to do wonders for making SH2 look like a modern game.
Gameplay wise Layers of Fear as largely a waling simulator with a few platforming moments and a very obtuse method of achieving it's various endings.
I really thought this one would go pretty quick! Here are a couple more shots, although they're all fairly similar anyway.
I'm pretty sure that's Darq, a game I looked into getting and... kind of forgot about.
