Name that GAME Thread

One of the banners says "Wardenclyffe", which makes me think it's Dishonored or Dishonored 2?

Not a Bioshock nor a Dishonored.
Not Resident Evil either.
In fact, it's not a series at all.

So it's either an indie game or one that didn't go over well (because we know large companies expect all games to launch a franchise until it fails to get 90% on meta-critic)

I don't have a guess, but those screenshots do look pretty.

Wolfenstein: The New Order?

It's on my to-play list as well.

Soma?

C----_--_---_S-- "is a first-person horror adventure video game...in the Unreal engine". according to Wikipedia.

I'll give it a few more hours before posting the answer.

Close to the Sun?

Free play if I'm right

Close to the Sun it is, and freeplay it is, too!

And because I had to give hints, you all get a picture of a second lighthouse from Psychonauts 2 - making the game awesome²!

I spent so many hours playing Tron Deadly Discs as a kid.

Advanced Dungeons and Dragons
Astrosmash
B-17 Bomber (voice)
Bomb Squad (voice)
Burgertime
Demon Attack
MLB (buttons for every position!)
NBA (3v3 haha)
Night Stalker
Snafu

So much fun.

Yup, I was an Intellivision kid.

Ok, since there's a theme of posting games of your childhood, here you go:

Is that SAS who dares wins?

Spectrum version of Commando?

That's correct and I very much appreciate the accuracy of the response. We had a Timex Sinclair 2068 when I was little.

Oh yeah....that's a Sinclair color palette (and spritework), not Spectrum. My bad. Need to spend some more time studying Retro Gamer magazine.

Edit: Nevermind. I'm dumb. Sinclair and Spectrum are apparently the same thing. I think I was getting it confused with the Amstrad CPC. Clearly I've had no hands-on experience with any of these.

Next, an early CD game:

Created by former Technosoft employees, the original version of this game received praise for utilizing the cd format's advantages to include animated cinematics and a rocking soundtrack.

Is that Lords of Thunder? I never played it as i was a SNES child but I think 13 year old BBK coveted it. Freeplay if right!

Freeplay it is!

I coveted it as well. Wasn't until 10ish years after release that I was able to get it.

This one's for all the old farts out there.

Mystery science theater 3000 the atari video game?

That blue and yellow color on the vertical lines looks super familiar. I know I played on the system that's running that, but I can't remember what it was or that game.

Sorry, no. Close.

This is what's known as "artifacting" and it was how the Atari 8-bit computer got 4 colors at its highest resolution.

Too hard? Okay, another screenshot, this time from the overworld. The colors may be a bit different based on which Atari computer it's running on.

It looks like an early installment in the Ultima series. I'll guess Ultima II.

That's correct! Played on the Altirra emulator with colors adjusted to mimic the color scheme of my old Atari 800.

Nice!

Here’s one that I wanted to play back in the day but never got to:

HELL YEAH LEGACY OF THE ANCIENTS! Loved that game as a kid and had no idea what I was doing or how to play. Also I got scared of the monsters that would pop up in the...pirates cave, I think it was? I was mostly there to play flip-flop and do the weapons/armor training minigame.

Freeeeeee play.
