Name that GAME Thread

The Stanley Parable?

Correct! I thought that one might be too easy.

Your turn mrtomaytohead.

Mole Patrol that was bundled in with the Super Scope 6 on SNES.

Super Scope. Man, Nintendo has been doing Nintendo things for a long time. Put out a peripheral, a game or two and then nada. lol

Yup, the SS6 really had a good amount of potential but you only had like 12 games made for it over the life span of the SNES, and I can't remember one that didn't get pretty repetitive. So it got really boring, really fast. Though, they were far in the lead against the Sega Menacer (in terms of design and accompanying games), that thing was trash.

I know I'm right so I'll just go before the confirmation to keep the thread moving. Going to toss out another easy one, though I am going to preface this with the fact that you need to provide the correct iteration.

Yeah, you were correct PurEvil.

And There was one pair of Super Scope games I wouldn't call repetitive, but they were short. Battle Clash and its sequel with the title that had no connection for outsiders, Metal Combat: Falcon's Revenge. I loved Metal Combat and played it a ton.

I'm going to guess... A Game For Ants.

Starsiege: Tribes the first...?

Yup. Imgur wasn't working for me yesterday so that's the first photo I could find that didn't have Tribes somewhere in the name. This was the first game I loaded up around 7-8 at night, looked down at my clock, and it was somewhere around 5 in the morning.

Giants?

Nvm, I wrote that before seeing that launcher thing.

Is that a mech exploding in Mechwarrior 2?

It is definitely a mech exploding, but it's not from any Mechwarrior title

Doesn't look like Heavy Gear or Earthsiege either...

It does look like Heavy Gear 2 though. I never played the original but I quite liked HG2... The last time I tried to go back and give it another go I couldn't get it to run.

It is Heavy Gear 2. Looks super awful in stills but passable in motion

Free play. I've done two recently, would rather give someone else a go.

Bit of a curveball, but since we're doing mechs....

Super hard to get a clean shot, so I made a gif:

BattleTech Battle Pods?

Edit: Ah, found the actual game name for those games:

BattleTech: Firestorm

Yep! Though I don't think it had a name when I played it, in Chicago. I think they opened up more after that, and it probably changed over time I guess..

Shockingly I got to play somewhere. I can't even tell you where I was now, but I LOVED the experience and spent every last penny I had playing that day (which wasn't much).

Ummm, game.

Ditto. I was, 15 or whatever and it was a family trip to Chicago, and all of a sudden me and my brother spent the whole time at a mall called Pier something or other, where they had the first installation.

No idea what yours is, but I'll throw Conan Exiles out there on instinct.

That would be Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, a game I was just thinking about for my 2019 top 10 list

Yup! Go watch the new trailer everyone!

Loved that game. And the new trailer is amazing. I wish is wasn't an exclusive, but of course we all saw it coming, what with Microsoft buying Ninja Theory.

OK here's an old favourite

I remember that map... Warlords?

Free play if right.

You got it!

I think it must have been the only map in the game. It's seared into my brain too.

My first thought seeing that map: "That's....not how rivers work."
