Destiny 2 Catch-All

Eh, when they're tuned as finely as they are with Destiny, you adapt quickly. Destiny controls perfectly on a controller.

Yup, doesn't work for me. I've tried lots of console shooters, including multiple halo games, and I never get to the point of feeling competent, and they just make me frustrated.

If console shooters don't work for you in any form, fair enough.

Destiny just feels better than any other shooter on a controller, so it might be worth trying for some that typically struggle with them.

I'll be in for PC, most likely. I played a bunch (not a lot) on PS4 but being a PC gamer first, I'd prefer to go that route.

#PCMR

Really curious to see how they implement weapon perks for PC players. The first game literally had upgrades that revolved around all the aim assisting magic that you need for a controller. Better weapons had better aim assist. With a mouse, all those needs go away.

I just really dig first-person games with a mouse and keyboard. There's something about that interface that is so immersive to me.

Contrast that with sitting back on my couch with a controller though for long play sessions and the decision gets tougher. I'm just not into shooters with a controller though.

Watched the trailer. It's funny, because I think it's actually appealing to two different kinds of players in different ways. Though Cayde definitely speaks more to the majority.

It's a shame that it looks like you won't play the downfall of the city, but it provides a contextual reason for the character reset at least.

I don't want to re-litigate the controller vs mouse debate, since it's mostly personal preference anyway.

My other reasons for going PC are that I have way more access to the PC, while I have to share the TV with my wife, and I don't really have any desire to pay an extra fee to play online on the PS4. So, yay that it's coming out on PC! Hopefully that winds up being a good way to play it, and not a second class citizen with no players.*

*Though I'm almost definitely going to be purely solo anyway, so I guess player count doesn't really matter.

Eh, it would just be 10 minutes of Nathan Fillion screaming "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

I'm in day one. Tempted to pick up on PC as well but not sure at the moment.

PC release means I probably will get this.

Hopefully there is cross-platform play. It's time to just do it already.

I will debate between the PS4 and PC. I've played Destiny on XBone but now have a PS4 and would like the exclusive content. But I'm going to build a new PC this summer and having Destiny on it is very appealing. Oh, what first world problems I have.

That would be great for our community, but I'm doubtful that will happen. K/M still gives such a massive advantage in anything remotely competitive, despite the aforementioned great console controls.

On the other hand, I would absolutely love the ability to transfer saves between platforms. I'd double dip on PS4 and PC immediately.

They still haven't released requirements for the PC, so I'm not sure where I'm going to buy it. I got in super late and have only played solo on PS3 so far, but it'd be cool to at least have the option of having a community of people around. Did a bunch of you play D1 together regularly? I never got the impression that a strong community of GWJers played this together, but I didn't follow closely either.

I clocked close to 600 hours on Destiny + expansions, and that was on the low end within our group, so yeah, I'd say we played regularly

The group I usually played with on PS4 was 5 regulars with another 4 or 5 other GWJers (and some cool non-GWJ players we met along the way) rotating in and out depending on the night, activity, and available space. I think the XB1 had a similar group.

You all stayed more active as a group than we did. We all still played but mostly with our own friend groups or solo.

In PVP it would be insane, and PVE it would just be boring as PC players would kill everything in sight before console people even get the target reticule pointed in the right direction. Save Transfer would be cool though, I'd double dip as well.

I think I was one of the occasional fill-ins with the Dyni group. Did you play with crinks and escher as well? I know I played a good bit of pvp with those guys, which trickled into playing the Division with them.

I also have another group of 6-8 who I rotated in and out with the Dyni group as well, so there was a pretty decent community for PS4, with plenty of cool folks to play with.

This is a problem with a simple solution, which I wish developers would figure out once and for all.

Solution: cross-platform play is opt-in.

Players can jump back and forth between the "everyone" pool and the "my platform only" pool. Simple toggle.

That's it. That's all you have to do.

People that want to play with their cross-platform friends can switch to the "everyone" pool and join their friends. And yeah, that means you might get matched with some PC elite mouse snipers. But you get to play with your friends.

When you no longer want to play with cross-platform people, toggle yourself back to "my platform only" and play as normal.

Yeah, our main raid group was me, Crinkle, Escher, Drexx (Escher's dad), and Petriefied. Eupham was our constant 6th for a while, but he left us for another group of friends during Rise of Iron. What a jerk, right?

As much as I constantly wanted to see the original on the PC and am glad to see this announced for PC, my time with Halo on the PC has me worried as does the comment about higher grade weapons having better aim assists. There's a very really chance this game will loose all of it's magic on PC. Still looking forward to it.

Bungie removing warlock class confirmed!

I'm not sure you needed this confirmed, but I'm happy to do it. Right.

Isn't there a game that has already implemented this? Gigantic, I think. But yes, this is the solution.

I did not start playing the first game until the Taken King expansion came out and never got into any of the GWJ groups but would be interested in joining in for the second game. I am one of those that vastly prefer K/M for FPS games, but if there is a solid group that is going to be on the PS4 I will probably pick it up there for the higher chance of getting to group with you all.

Destiny 2 PS4 Theme Now Available To Those Who Pre-order The Game via PS Store, Plays New Theme Song

There is a special bonus available right now for PlayStation 4 owners who pre-ordered Destiny 2 via PlayStation Store. Destiny 2 THEME is available for them right now, they can apply the theme in Settings. The best part about this theme is that it plays a new Destiny 2 theme song.

I'm still doubtful that they'd do something like that, but it sure does sound nice. Here's hoping.

As with most things PC on GWJ, if I would be surprised if you couldn't find a good number of GWJers to play with on the PC this fall. The PC crowd is almost always larger than the console one.

Except for Titanfall 2.

I'm still thinking about XBone. Running Kings Fall with GWJers was my best community experience so far. Too bad we never got an Abu raid going for WotM.

I'm skeptical too unfortunately, especially since one thing that throws a monkey wrench into this sort of feature is platform-exclusive content, and Bungie loves doing that crap.

But at the very least, that idea is how these things should be done, and hopefully with enough demanding, will eventually be.
