So, I was pretty "Huh, Comedy Central is desperate" when they announced Jon was coming back. I was skeptical and thought his time was past (and it still might be).
....but, to me? Dude's still got his fastball. Especially the last 8 minutes.
Yeah, he seemed as sharp as ever. Finally, some scheduled TV to look forward on Monday.
Got a great curve ball, too.
Silly question: Which streaming service can I watch this on? I have lost track of which parent company owns Comedy Central now.
Last I saw, Comedy Central falls under the Paramount umbrella now. But when I look at it on my Paramount Plus page in Apple TV, it doesn't have any recent episodes.

This... might be brilliant.

I get doing it once, but who has the energy to keep doing it without getting crippling depression?
Fraud, Abuse, and Malfeasance in the American Health System AWARDS
In my opinion, those that are entertaining the idea that the Democratic party should be running anyone other than other than Biden/Harris for the next presidential term should watch this Lawrence O'Donnell op-ed piece.
I mean they definitely should have run someone else, but the time to decise who and start the process was three years ago, so we're stuck.
I Believed These Four Lies
That is my favorite of Hank Green’s videos in a good long time. Outstanding advice in there.
And speaking of advice on examining one’s biases and looking out for misleading stories on the internet, Rebecca Watson has a doozie today, too. Major content warning for this, as she talks frankly about sexual violence, war crimes, and several other awful topics. Her conclusions are at least heartening.
Bottom line: several horror stories attributed to Hamas attacks are pure fiction, and similar horrific actions by the IDF have been covered up. Both sides in the Gaza conflict are responsible for inhuman brutality. Horrible things happen in war, and reality is notoriously hard to pin down due to the fog of war and plain old propaganda. Malicious or not, misinformation happens, and it’s far too easy to use it to stoke internet culture fires.
Painful Truths the U.S. Can Learn from Global Healthcare
After taking advantage of my VA health care benefit for a couple of years now, I can say based on my experience that what the US needs is an NHS type system. The rest of the healthcare industry is far too corrupt for any half-assed solution to be functional for people who aren't wealthy.
Of course it will require a LOT of oversight to ensure that the existing corruption doesn't seep into the government system, but if the VA can do it reasonably well, it can work for everyone.
I know there are a lot of VA horror stories, but things have improved significantly since VA health care started being kept on a short leash some time ago.

Great. Now FIX. IT.

LOL. Good one.

I presume you're also suggesting some mechanism of not allowing right wing governments to royally f*ck up this NHS type system?
You know, like the slow-rolling disaster that's been happening to the actual NHS during the last 14 years of Tory government? Also during pretty much every earlier Conservative government since the NHS was brought into existence?

This one is buried in a tweet, so apologies.
How is protesting Israel's genocide at odds with voting again trump? Maybe I just have a super advanced brain but I can protest Biden's actions and still vote for him when there are only two candidates on the ballot.
Because there are people who are putting forward the argument that any criticism of America's current policy is dangerous, because it risks electing Trump. So we have to pretend everything is fine until November. THEN we can express our preferences.
well....f*ck them. I won't hold my nose while Biden does things things I disagree with now and continuing to hold it as a pull the lever for him in November.
In fact, I will continue to criticize him, even as I vote for him. I am flexible that way.

The Most Dangerous Thing In The Western Hemisphere
That guy lost me in the first minute. I don't know any liberals who are "scolding Palestinians for resisting their own extermination." I'm sure they're out there, but I don't know any personally.
Like most of this guy's videos, his title is rage bait, and I'm just not interested in engaging with that.
