PAX East 2017: Who's All In?

As predicted, it doesn't appear there's a lot of interest/availability for a dinner or S&T outside of Tamo (Saturday, 6 pm, be there).

But just in case, I thought I'd throw it out one more time. Any interest in a GWJ dinner in Seaport Friday or Saturday (probably Friday)?

And to make sure it doesn't get buried:

What messaging app are we all using to coordinate this year?

Slack?

I'll likely be using Slack. I don't mind the Groupme but I just like Slack better.

I might be in Friday if you guys want, will have to check with the guy I'm staying with.

Turns out it's a good thing I didn't buy PAX tickets this year, because I just put two and two together and realized that my chorus' concert is on Saturday. That means no Tamo for me.

Alternately, if anyone likes classical choral music, I'll be performing Handel's Israel in Egypt on Saturday at 8pm in Harvard Sq! It's got plagues and drowning and fire and brimstone and everything!

I'd be down for grabbing a bite to eat Friday evening. Or Thursday if anybody's around.

I guess I (or we?) "chose" groupme last year. Slack app on my device doesn't show me anything related to GWJ.
I just started using it for work recently but that was after PAX East 2016. Anyway, I like it just fine.
Groupme comes up with reminders of the fun from last year.
In any case I couldn't seem to connect to a GWJ slack group so I just sent a request through https://www.gamerswithjobs.com/node/... in case that is still a thing.
I sent a ping via the groupme app:
PAX FEVER.

I never post on the forums despite saying that will change each year when I meet people at PAX. That being said, I think I am more excited about the Tamo meetup than PAX East itself this year. See everyone Saturday.

Anybody have an extra Saturday? Friend wants to bring his kid.

Edit: Never mind, found the login for Slack and Groupme.
Thanks for McIrish for adding me to GroupMe (maybe last year, lol), made it super easy to join!

Sitting in the Slate Bar and Grill if anyone happens to be here. #longshot

Before I have a massive hangover tomorrow, I want to post how much I enjoyed the Tamo meetup tonight, how much I enjoyed meeting and talking to as many of you as I was able to, and how glad I am to be part of such an awesome community as GWJ.
Thank you all, especially for putting up with my increasingly tipsy self throughout the night (and if anyone is worried, I got home with all my stuff safe and sound).

It was good to see everyone last night! Sorry we cut out early, we wanted to check out the concerts last night which is something we hadn't done in a while

I feel badly that I didn't get to meet more of you this year. As it stands I was lucky to find Taharka.

Maybe next year?

It was really great meeting everyone on Saturday. We certainly put the world to rights and I also enjoyed the discussion over the tactical blindness I suffer from in board games.

Here's to PAX West (assuming some of you are going), other wise I'll see you in 2018.

I was only able to get Sunday passes this year. My wife and I were able to see a couple friends and play a couple games but I dunno... I found the whole thing a bit underwhelming this year. It seems like there are just too many people on the floor to actually view anything and none of the panels seemed terribly interesting. Even the indie stuff was kind of swamped, and in the past we'd head over there and just play and talk to a bunch of people. I really don't know what I am looking for out of the convention any more. I guess it would be different if I had the time to meet up with the GWJ crew and just grab a tabletop table.

It was nice to see you guys at the Tamo this year

Aw dang I didn't know YOU were gonna be there!

It was great seeing you all at the Tamo again! I wish I could have talked to more of the huge crowd. Thanks for all of you putting up with my surprisingly drunken ramblings. Two Manhattans at home doesn't hit me nearly as hard as it did the other night.

They were surprising and drunken.

FYI, my wife and I talk about our respective PAX experiences on our Podcast this week.

Next year we gotta go and go big. I am tired of only being able to catch bits and pieces!
