[News] Post a D&D Picture

Previous incarnations of Cleveland/P&C/D&D have had an image thread, to handle political cartoons and other image-based stuff that doesn't belong in the general post-a-picture threads.

If any of them spawn an extended discussion, please spawn it off into its own thread. Replies to non-picture replies should take the form of a link pointing to a post on a different discussion thread.

And I shouldn't have to say it, but the images still need to abide by the rules.

Here's a fairly depressing political cartoon:

I know the answer and so does Warren - no oligarchs are above the law. That is what we have decided to allow by re-electing a felon, etc.

I was much happier in the brief moment when I couldn't remember what the granddaughter bit was referring to.

As ridiculous as that plot twist was, after watching US politics over the last 30+ years I've come to realize it's also one of the more realistic ones.

He says, while posting to Twitter, a platform owned by the world's richest man who is bribing everyone he can to undermine our democracy.

Just manufactured outrage to get people to vote against their own best interests

In 20 years: "Voters rage at Democrats over upswing in polio cases"

Americans be like "yes, I do support that horrible policy, unless it does bad things- in which case I am against it."

Except seriously, that's how it works.

And seriously what do people think would happen when a convicted felon is elected to the highest office in the land? Voters had all the information and still picked him because they don't care about traditional American values like honesty. They voted for him because they hate, really just hate. For different people it is different things but it is just hate - and he tells that that is ok. That they are good for hating, that he hates too.

Oh a lighter note

It's so charmingly stupid that people still think that "federal officials being concerned" is a thing that matters.

"But what will happen if he and his administration break every rule when he has complete immunity anyway?"

While this is a cute, quippy sentiment, Clark Griswold works at a big-time advertising firm in Chicago and a has a salary that allows him to afford a huge Home Alone-sized house. I feel pretty safe saying dudes working at Meineke in 1989 weren't getting year-end bonuses.

Right, I just re-watched this the other day and there are multiple times in the movie where he complains about "rich fat cats" while standing in that Home Alone-sized house. But that's lower middle class in Hollywood I guess.

I mean it was the 80s. You could get write "slobs vs snobs" stories about families that, in real life, would have to be pulling in $300K+ a year because the husband drank beer and watched football.

Like, I mentioned Home Alone and people have poured over it in detail, but even by early 90s standards, the McCallister family had to be f*cking RICH.

If they want to tar anti corporate organizing or peaceful protest as terrorism, it's only a hop skip and a jump to real terrorism.

I just saw this one on Reddit:

Certainly no one involved has any sense of how PR works.

Police escort or fan club?
