Thr sad thing is Universal Healthcare nearly pays for itself in cost savings and returned worker productivity. The difference to the budget would be a rounding error and Americans would get back so much time and energy not wasted fighting with insurance companies. We don't even have to tax the shit out of corporations to have nice things.

That is true of so many things including free quality early childhood education, free breakfast and lunch, housing the homeless, public transportation, high speed trains, student debt forgiveness….

Forget increased productivity, the US government spends more per capita on healthcare than the Canadian government, and the Canadians have single payer. Turns out it's straight up cheaper without taking into account the ancillary benefits.
