[News] Post a D&D Picture

Previous incarnations of Cleveland/P&C/D&D have had an image thread, to handle political cartoons and other image-based stuff that doesn't belong in the general post-a-picture threads.

If any of them spawn an extended discussion, please spawn it off into its own thread. Replies to non-picture replies should take the form of a link pointing to a post on a different discussion thread.

And I shouldn't have to say it, but the images still need to abide by the rules.

This brings new light to the common “joke” about pronouns; “I identify as a helicopter.”

I think the "I identify as an attack helicopter" meme is less a "common joke" and more of a demeaning and derogatory comment aimed at trans people. Just FYI.

I agree. That's the reason I put quotes around around the word joke. (And the reason I've had a few heated dinner conversations with my brother-in-law about his use of that meme.) No offence intended, I made the connection in my mind with the ongoing wing conversation, since helicopters fly but don't have wings.

For a second there I thought the steering wheel was centered between the two seats...

It might be a better metaphor if it was...

The screenshot buries (hi) the lede that comes up down thread, which is that this decision could not have been made by ol 45, but had to have been made by her children/mother (kinda doubting it's the latter though), who are the legal next of kin.

The day before Missouri's primary the great kingmaker Trump throws his support behind "ERIC."

There's one small problem, though. There are two Erics on the GOP's ballot tomorrow: Eric Greitens and Eric Schmitt.

EDIT: I was wrong. There are *three* Erics on the ballot tomorrow. The third is Eric McElroy, a self-described comedian and author who has apparently run for office previously. McElroy is in the back of the pack candidate-wise and isn't even asked about in polls. It would be fitting if he won tomorrow.

I see Eric in all caps and all I can think of is, "MATT DAMON".

So now the cult of trump will have to find some way to disown Dick Cheney.
*shouldn't be too hard - cults are not known for their logic and thoughtfulness. I will find it funny when trump invariably calls him a "loser" and says "I never liked him much"

In our nation's 246 year history there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our Republic than Donald Trump,' Cheney said in a new clip

Cheney added that Trump 'lost his election and he lost big. I know it, he knows it'

''He is a coward. A real man wouldn't lie to his supporters' he added in the attack

I've seen Trump supporters calling Cheney a war criminal.

Keep in mind Trump pardoned an actual war criminal.

Man who helped subvert democracy a couple times amazed at further subversion of democracy he started and tries to hold the breaking dam he broke.

It is like, in their warped world-view, Trump was the first real Republican since (strangely) Lincoln, with Nixon getting an honorable mention.

I don't think that's quite right. He doesn't think Trump went too far; he's mad at Trump for hijacking his subversion there at the end. How many decades and billions of dollars did the Republicans spend vilifying Hillary Clinton? And then this jackass sweeps in and reaps all the reward for their hard work. (Never mind the court nominations; don't look at those. Focus on Orange Man Bad™ and continue believing that we're "the good ones.")

We are saying the same thing, you just described it more. He's also mad they are calling his daughter a lib.

I don't think he gives a damn about the dam. He just wants his daughter to keep her seat.
So it is pot calling kettle black with a man who was power at all cost bitching about his party trashing his daughter for only being power at almost all cost. She has 1 line she won't cross and she is being ostracized by her party for it...

She doesn't even try to hide that she's corrupt.

When there are no consequences and no innate morality, why should she?

I feel this is the problem... with everything going on. Trump and the coup conspirators aren't facing any serious repercussions for what they've attempted. Other candidates for office aren't even pretending there is any cheating going on in the electoral process anymore. They are just saying they want to overturn the results if they don't win.

When there are no consequences for this behavior, those that seek power at any cost will keep pushing the envelope. Trump is not in jail. Hell, he's not even barred from running again. The next round of this crap will be much, much worse than Jan 6.

That’s what makes the Democrats just as responsible. Their naked corruption means voters interpret both sides as equally corrupt. So they asks themselves, why not vote for the party that hates the same people you they hate?

The Dems inability (unwillingness?) to do anything about the christo-facist party power grab is pretty disheartening.
