[News] Post a D&D Picture

Previous incarnations of Cleveland/P&C/D&D have had an image thread, to handle political cartoons and other image-based stuff that doesn't belong in the general post-a-picture threads.

If any of them spawn an extended discussion, please spawn it off into its own thread. Replies to non-picture replies should take the form of a link pointing to a post on a different discussion thread.

And I shouldn't have to say it, but the images still need to abide by the rules.

I love Sarah Cooper. The whole thread this appears in is gold.

Is there at least a doctor of handbag design on the team?

Even the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees are getting in on the action.

Well, it couldn't be horsesh*t, since it wasn't coming out of his mouth.

He must have used Steven Miller's head spray instead.

That doesn't strike me as funny or even mildly amusing satire. A majority of Republicans believe fraud was responsible for Biden's win. What impact do you think that will have when he takes office?

Maybe years from now we can look back and say "ha ha, Trump lost and his supporters were in denial," but not now. We must work to contain misinformation and we must be vigilant against potentially unlawful actions of the large number of people who believe the government is not valid.

This is not a few ineffectual children we're talking about here. There are tens of millions of adults living in a different reality.

You have a valid point. Here is another. Maybe some have been through enough this year, and laughing is about all they can do to stay sane.

So... laugh while Rome burns?

I don't mind political humor, but there are comical fools and dangerous fools. The people those kids represent should not be written off and ridiculed. If anything that will make them more dangerous.

Yes.

Because the alternative is cry.

I said both points are valid, and I see both are among what is happening. So... we're both happy right? They're being ridiculed, but they're not being written off. Different people are going to have different, valid reactions. You do you and don't write them off. That doesn't mean everyone's in a place to join you, but I'm sure enough are.

Humor is like kink. You can't control how something affects you.

But even innocent actions have consequences. I just wanted to put in my two cents that laughing at the millions of people who believe the election was stolen from them may be cathartic, but it is also dangerous. They live in their own reality, play by their own rules, and their respect for human life is highly conditional.

Point made. I'll laugh at Rod and Todd, and take things more seriously when I haven't been out of work for 5 months, my wife and kids don't all have serious health issues going on, we're not taking my frail father in law in for cancer treatments 5 times a week (he lives with us), and it's not all happening in the midst of this sh*t in a state filled with the very people you're talking about who would kill my kids for being themselves. I'm very aware and am in the midst of surviving. Thanks for having the cycles to take it on your way.

You have my sincere condolences on all your troubles. I went through months of rough times with my dad before he passed recently, so that's all fresh in my mind, too. 2020 sucks.

My drug of choice is animal videos. I particularly enjoy the SaveAFox rescue videos. They take in surrendered pets, mostly foxes from people who rescued them from a fur farm then realized how much work it was to care for a fox. The hypervocal Finnegan Fox is the star of many of their videos, but this particular one is their only coyote, Dakota. Here he is enjoying a pumpkin that's a little too big for him to handle:

Here's a video with more background on Dakota and why he's living at a fox rescue.

Cool. Lou takes comfort in the Simpsons picture. You're both satisfied, as has been stated by Lou a couple times now because he's not saying your point is wrong, either. Think it's time to move on now because it doesn't seem like there's a real argument here. He's not looking for replacement for something he chuckled at on the internet and then is going to go about his day.

Sorry, I did not mean to imply that he needed a replacement.

His last message read to me like additional distractions might be helpful. I was trying to be helpful, not argue.

I probably explained it poorly, but it was never my intention to tell people what to find funny, only to point out my reaction (which I've repeated enough by now...).

Happy to move on.

Dang, that is one fat coyote.

If the penalty is incarceration, but with a good lawyer you'll avoid it...
If it's a felony, but if you live in a 'good' neighborhood you won't get stopped/searched...
Ad nauseum. ('Tis the season... I'll say super nauseum.)
