[News] Post a D&D Picture

Previous incarnations of Cleveland/P&C/D&D have had an image thread, to handle political cartoons and other image-based stuff that doesn't belong in the general post-a-picture threads.

If any of them spawn an extended discussion, please spawn it off into its own thread. Replies to non-picture replies should take the form of a link pointing to a post on a different discussion thread.

And I shouldn't have to say it, but the images still need to abide by the rules.

Doesn't look like he's wearing a mask either

Covid cops are like real cops—they don’t have to follow the rules they enforce.

There is one important distinction though- there’s a chance that a COVID cop may actually face repercussions for their actions since diseases can’t be bullied into acquiescence.

This chart of GDP is going to explain a lot of today's news:

That is definitely a lesson of this pandemic, just as much as George Floyd epitomized that we have systemic racism and cops are asked to do too many things they are not qualified to do. (especially in their narrow world view of good guys and bad guys)

So proud of my state right now!

I imagine it went something like this.

Oh FFS.

They have to be trolling us, right?

I'll be mildly surprised if it's anyone but Harris. Chris Dodd seems to have a vendetta against her, possibly because she prosecuted some of his friends for fraud. He seems to be the source of all the stories pointing to anyone else. I think he's trying to will Biden in to making another choice.

It's been up for 14 hours. When I checked the actual article, they had changed the photo, or removed it. But searching for the story has the original photo.

I have no idea who he's going to pick, and for the most part, I really don't care. I think it should be a black woman, and I kind of assume it will be. But a VP pick is kinda like a bad console name. It's a big deal at the reveal, and then everyone forgets there is even a VP. Well, unless he does something completely asinine like McCain choosing Sarah Palin.

None of the women we have assumed are the "finalists" are bad. I'll be honest, the idea of Kamala Harris as AG is what I would enjoy the most right now, bar none.

I think James Carville had the right of it when he said that Biden needs to pick the one that he is the most comfortable with, regardless of a bunch of data and possible political advantages. That's the advantage of having several solid choices.

“Top Cop” Harris’ past involvement with law enforcement would make her possibly the worst, most disastrous VP pick in the current political climate...

So yeah, she’ll probably be the one.

Or someone with a prosecutorial background might be a good pick to counter the rampant criminality of the current administration, and at the same time undercut the whole "Law and Order" thing Trump is trying to go with.
But of course you have your finger on the pulse of the American public, which is why we're having this conversation about Sanders' VP pick.

What do you think is currently most immediate in the day to day lives of voters, criminality in the administration or the people getting abused, beaten, and murdered by those supposed to protect them? Trump using his position for profit or cops occupying cities like an invading army? Maybe it’s quiet where you are but there are still regular protests in cities all over the country and it’s only going to pick up in the coming months now that unemployment extensions and eviction moratoriums have expired. Biden needs someone who doesn’t proudly and unapologetically call themselves the “Top Cop” right now. Literally anyone else would be better

I liked Sanders but I didn’t really expect him to win outside of the month or so when he was in the lead. The quoted section is just such a bizarre statement to make.

This is a thing extremely online liberals are into. Watching Trump be “prosecuted” by Harris is nonsense I hear all the time. As if a few really good, aggressive speeches are going to take down Trump. The same way Pelosi’s sick clap back at the state of the union almost ended him.

The reality is Biden should choose someone he thinks will convince voters that Democrats care about their material interests and their overall welfare.

He could pick one of his shoes as his VP, a literal brown loafer, and I will still vote for him against Trump.

Of course. I just think it’s hilarious that Harris moves the needle for any voter. I don’t get it.

Warren I get. She genuinely seems to care about her constituents. Same for a few of the other potential picks. But I don’t get Harris as the pick at all.

I hope that someday you recognize that persuadable voters exist who don't have the exact same prejudices and priorities that you do.

That's because you don't think persuadable voters exist who don't think exactly like you.

Ugh. Not true. I assume most voters still want their lives to be better and that’s how they choose their politicians.

I just don’t understand what they think Harris stands for and how someone like her will improve their lives.

With a lead like this, I hope he picks Hillary for the lulz and the Republicryin'

Bolded the important part.

Someone can recognize that, and still not understand a specific pick. Like:

"Candidate A persuades me, and I can see how someone could be persuaded by picks B through Y, but Z? Z I just don't get"

And then resigns after adding Gorsuch and Obama to the SCOTUS.

Edit: F me, I meant Garland. Not enough coffee yet today.

Yes!

FYI: your spell check is behaving like Mitch McConnell
