[News] Post a D&D Picture

Previous incarnations of Cleveland/P&C/D&D have had an image thread, to handle political cartoons and other image-based stuff that doesn't belong in the general post-a-picture threads.

If any of them spawn an extended discussion, please spawn it off into its own thread. Replies to non-picture replies should take the form of a link pointing to a post on a different discussion thread.

And I shouldn't have to say it, but the images still need to abide by the rules.

I'm highly curious how one politician can be not equal, not better, and not worse than another, all at the same time.

I reject that premise. Why is "not better than" the same as "equal"?

I didn’t say it was. You said “I don’t think he’s equal, but I don’t think he’s better”. The only option left is worse.

Once again, that there are these three choices and only these three is your premise, not mine.

Ok, if you don’t think he’s better and you don’t think he’s equal, what do you think?

Because equal implies that they have the same political strategy, the same presentation to the public, etc.

They're not equal. I don't think Biden is worse. I don't think he's better. I don't think they're equal.

Why is this a hard concept?

Is there such a thing as a false trichotomy?

I would love to go into what I mean in more detail with examples, citations, etc., but that's not what this thread is for, and the rails are already 100 meters off in the distance as it were.

I think blueberries are better than bananas.
I am indifferent between blueberries and bananas.
I think blueberries are worse than bananas.

There is no fourth option. Those are the three possible opinions that exist. If you eliminate two then you have one left.

If you don’t think Trump is worse than Biden or Obama then I don’t think there is much worth debating because you can’t argue against emotion with logic.

This thread is not equal to the locked one, but still getting worse every day.

None of this debate is in picture or memes. I highly suggest we enforce the rules should this debate continue. IMAGE(https://i.redd.it/d52y1p93lyjz.jpg)

Edit:

Postmodernism is dumb.

Moving on.

Well, indifference is very much the wrong word because I have very strong feelings about why I think both of these men are awful and how much I desire not to vote for either of them. I do not feel like I could slice either one of their personalities or positions into neat portions where I could lay them on a scale and objectively tell you which one was worse at the end. That's essentially all I'm getting at.

Now please, back to terrifying pictures about our economic realities.

I take it this is now the replacement US Election Discussion thread?

If any of them spawn an extended discussion, please spawn it off into its own thread.

Yosemite Sam needs two oversized shootin' irons and an AT-4 to feel safe ordering his sub.

The guy with an AR, ponytail, and a crew-served machine gun with an American flag attached to it is most definitely not trying to compensate for something.

And if you were wondering where these f*cking idiots get their warped sense of reality from, just check out the chyron from an OAN coronavirus "news segment."

Movie prop weapons for wanna-be soldiers.

Or non-functioning test surrogates that they "liberated" illegally.

NO, please.

Last two pages have been more text than pictures. Please reverse the trend or I'll consider replacing your word posts with lame meme pictures before locking it. Thanks!

I was seeing this pic in particular all over yesterday and a bunch of people pointed out that if you look closely it’s actually a 2x4 that’s been carved and painted black.

That just makes the picture a more pathetic example of toxic masculinity than it already is...

It's good to have a craft project whilst on lockdown.

Well he's not going to learn Spanish that's for sure.

Some good news

The receiver is clearly wooden. The receiver is not the stock and is never made of wood.

Exactly.

The M2 machine gun has no stock on its receiver. It has a buffer assembly cover and some models have "butterfly" triggers.

Also, the sights are typically a combination of front ring sights and an adjustable rear sliding sight apeture. Not the two ring sights present on this hunk of wood.

Me, I definitely defer to people who have actually handled the weapon in question.

Hell, I should probably defer to people who recognize the weapon in question.

My only real hope is that this could be pre-covid cosplay? I don't think it is, but I want it to be.

I would say that it is plausible that the barrel might be metal; a piece of metal pipe, but metal bone the less. Sure, it's more likely either a dowel or PVC, but it *could* be metal.

The barrel looks metal to me. So to the two C shaped bits at the other end and the paint roller thing attached to the "barrel".
I am surprised no one mentioned that the guy is doing a selfie for bonus awesomeness!

Not to mention the fact that he couldn’t even fire the weapon (safely/sanely) without the tripod or mounted on a vehicle. I’ve carried a few of those like that but only short distances to and from a vehicle so I can say with certainly that man is just cosplaying a tough guy. What a maroon.
