[News] Post a D&D Picture

Previous incarnations of Cleveland/P&C/D&D have had an image thread, to handle political cartoons and other image-based stuff that doesn't belong in the general post-a-picture threads.

If any of them spawn an extended discussion, please spawn it off into its own thread. Replies to non-picture replies should take the form of a link pointing to a post on a different discussion thread.

And I shouldn't have to say it, but the images still need to abide by the rules.

If you pay hourly, then it is in the servers best interest to slow down service and wait on as few tables as possible. If you pay them a bonus per table they turn, then it is in the interest to rush customers and not worry about customer service. I'm not saying tipping is perfect, but there is reason it developed. And just eliminating tipping screws everyone, including customers.

What job doesn't have that? If I rush through my work I just get more work, so I should slow down how fast I fix things, but then people will be upset at how long support takes. But if I fly through tasks people will not feel I really explained the issues.

Why isn't my job paid by tipping? Why are not all jobs?

For you last sentence, is not that the essence of the gig economy?

Isn't the gig economy still pay up front, or at least agree on pay up front?

Do restaurants in the US not have managers/supervisors to manage/supervise staff?

The Asian lady pictured is the founder of the Orchids of Asia spa.

If Obama had been within a mile of the owner of several suspected illegal brothels...

Happy International Women's Day!

Man she's a hard looking 45 (saying that as someone who turns 45 this summer).

Dude.

He's got a point. "Asians Don't Raisin" apparently does not apply to this lady.

Speaking of people looking older than their ages, here's someone who's the same age!

Wow! Alex Jones is 45?
No way. He looks in his 60's.
I guess rotten on the inside and out.

Just wait until the Pizzagate conspiracists find out about this! Oh boy, are they are going to flip out!

I have, for a long time, had the horrified suspicion that the repeated conspiracy-theory-fueled accusations are another extreme example of projection. Heaven knows a lot of the gamergaters/MRAs/pizzagaters have way too many people in their ranks who would be all for it. I hope it isn't the case.

(The QAnon people, on the other hand, are at a whole other level of delusion.)

I know! I read an article about Jones' claim about Asians being killing robots, and the most shocking part was their mention of his age! Bigotry causes premature aging, folks.

Sorry if I crossed the line. I wasn't trying to make subtle racist or sexist remarks, only pointing out that she's using the same treatment as Alex Jones and Emperor Palpatine anti-aging treatment.

Also, I figured that very few people are more worthy of mocking than a human trafficker who's in the Trump Super Fan club.

SO i tend to think that the ravings of a crazy dictator are probably just that, but I can't help but note that a weapon system that we've been using since the first Iraq war is specifically designed to collapse electrical grids by shorting out things like transsformers (which tend to detonate if shorted)

Given our long and storied history of f*cking around in South and Central America, I would be more surprised if we weren't involved in all that.

I didn't see any lines being crossed. My mod hat is completely off. I was agreeing with you.

Unsurprisingly, there's more nuance there than "don't give poor people charity", but I've gotta think there are better ways of handling the situation. Perhaps ways with more, I don't know, nuance.

Well yea. there is nuance, but the logic of grocery/food service is "If you give food away for free in any situation, then that disincentives people from buying food and cuts into your business income." and so they've not hesitated to throw their weight around to make sure it's difficult/impossible to give away food. In other words, it's not the officers who are monsters here, it's the city council and the businesses in the area who had these policies enacted.

No, the officers would be monsters too.

They could have just handled it differently.

Point taken. The offers are not the ONLY monsters, not the most responsible. If the officers ned to be chased w toches and pitchforks, the regional grocery manager and Starbucks executives need to be there next to them.
