Fire Emblem Catch All

Nailed it Clock. Get out while the going is good - there's another 60 hours of that tedious bullsh*t occasionally interspersed with a brief bit of tactics that may be interesting, but you'll probably be overlevelled enough to make it trivial.

I enjoyed it enough to finish one playthrough. But I definitely agree that a lot of the in between battle stuff felt bloated and drawn out. Especially after the first few times of running around the school.

I got to the BE split point last week. One of the few moments in gaming where a game has hit me with a choice that made me stand up and think about it for a few hours before logging back in with my choice. (I talk about it a little bit on the upcoming CC, and I likely also fail to answer questions about how systems in the game work due to my new look-nothing-up lifestyle.)

Spoiler:

I decided to burn down the establishment because of course I did.

I've mostly been on total lockdown with this game, playing I imagine completely suboptimally on hard but absolutely loving it. (I too wonder about which mission critical systems I've been neglected.)

Remember a couple of months ago when I and others were complaining that the campaign is too easy even on Hard? I started Cindered Shadows on Hard and it's been ripping my arms off and beating me to death with them, so that crisis is over. :)

Let us know how good their mini-campaign turns out; I didn't really get much of a feel from many of the reviews I read.

Just remembered I owe you an update. Chapters 2, 3, and 4 were intense on Hard, and more fun than I had on any primary campaign mission. Yuri's class skill in particular is insanely useful and I would have called it broken, except I had to shamelessly abuse it just to keep my people alive. The class restrictions also gave it a bit more of an old-school FE feel.

It was taking a long time though, and after losing chapter 5 I ran out of patience and throttled back down to normal for a relatively easy victory lap. The final chapters still had some interesting twists, though.

Overall the level of challenge and variety is a lot closer to what I've been missing from Fates Conquest, and I highly recommend it.

The story is alright. Hard to set up any big twists or reveals in such a short campaign.

I guess I am the WORST Fire Emblem player in the World.... I am in chapter 21 of Conquest.. con "easy" or "casual" mode where your units dont die for good and return at the next battle and boy oh boy... If i HADNT played in this mode i would`ve ended up with zero units Jesus... lol

How pathetic i am.
Despite this... i am really enjoying the game and i am looking forward to Birthright!
