Fire Emblem Catch All

You really don't have to reroll, you'll very likely get someone you like from your first summon. And all characters are viable, at least in my experience.

That said, I didn't know that locked me into a faction choice and, when it was presented to me that I couldn't choose picturesque japanese faction, I got angry and turned it off for the night.

Constant re-rolls at least didn't cost me $40.

But seeing a battle map that was more than 20 squares was very gratifying so I think I made the right choice.

Conquest is the better game, IMO. Worst case, spend $20 on DLC that gives you Birthright.

I've been poking away at it. I'm level 20 and I have done 3 full 5 person summons and have gotten 3 4* people and the rest 3* (but I got my girl Sully). Apparently I am bad at random chance? Don't feel like starting over but I think that the free to play stuff is REALLY forgiving. If I had some good characters, this game would be very ok.

But I don't want to start over and I bought conquest so bring on real FE.

Maybe when I'm done, I can throw some money and get birthright, we'll see how I feel.

4* characters in heroes are very strong, and you can upgrade a 3* to a 4* for pretty cheap. My current MVPs are almost entirely 3 and 4, because they have the right weapon types. In the long run that matters more than star rating.

I think you'll enjoy Conquest. As DS said the story is good, and unless if you're playing on Hard, which I don't recommend, then you won't miss the grinding opportunities.

3 full summons and I still don't have another axe than the starting one =/

So yeah, full on conquest =)

That's why they give you one of each type, so at least you have the one. Also check the daily special map, I predict the next one will be a green hero.

Got Takumi as a first pull. Pretty happy about that. 350538338 is my Id.

I did reroll a handful of times. On what was going to be my last attempt (because my tolerance for the process was turning out to be pretty low), I got a 5 Jeorge and 4s of Florina and Tiki. So that worked out even though in a perfect world I would get Lucina. After I worked up another 20 orbs I added a 5 Tharja. So that's been my team. I'm still doing the normal story maps so I haven't had to worry much about countering enemy types and such.

Anyone notice that you were getting less and less orbs for starting when re-rolling. Went from only having to do through the 2nd prologue mission to get 20 orbs on Sunday to the 3rd yesterday.
Eventually got a 5* and three 4*'s and left it at that. Now I have a double magic user group, and a 3* backup archer. I also lost my 10 Nintendo network bonus orbs because I'm dumb and redeemed that before thinking about rerolling.

I did the same thing. And stupidly I thought about that before redeeming it, but then assumed Nintendo would let you buy more orbs. No way they'd impose artificial sarcity on using digital coins to purchase orbs.

Sent out friend requests.

I ended up stopping on Lyn(5), Cherche(4) and Merric(4). I use the starting spear character to round out. Every time before that I rolled a 5 character I had only 3s to go with.

Rerolling takes Zero effort.

You can auto-battle through everything you need to do to get to 20 orbs (except the first 3 moves where you're locked out of settings). You can also turn off all combat animations to it's really quick.

All you need to to after that is pay minimal attention and tap through the prompts (dont even need to look at the screen if your finger is in the right spot).

There was a promo that ended on the weekend. Now you need to do one level further. I suppose after frebruary it'll get harder because presumably some of the other promos will wear off.

Technically you were getting more orbs on Sat/Sun. There are usually 2 per day login bonus. There was an extra 1 per day over the weekend.

Re-rolling may take zero effort but it takes a toll on you mentally. I reached a point where I wanted to snap my phone in half so I figured I should take what I could get and move on.

Yep. That's how I ended up sticking with a less than ideal set.

I have a theory that--if you are playing for the long term--you'll get the strongest team by leveling 1*s to 20, feeding them all other dupes along the way (gaining both 'bonus levels' and SP), improving them to 2* and doing it all over again. This (admittedly insane) approach would probably require that you also be leveling a group of high* characters in parallel, to clear the main story and farm orbs.

Feeling quite happy with the game, and knowing myself better after playing MQP, I dropped $40 for orbs, giving me three full draws. I'm now flush with 5* swordsfolk: Roy, Marth and Lyn. All are very cool, but Lyn is going to have to me my main. Really hurting in the Axe and Lance department though, for high* characters...all the rest of my good blues and greens are ranged. Linde (blue magic) is awesome at 5* though: heal adjacent allies 5hp after initiating combat!...Really need to upgrade my castle now though.

In other news, apparently we all will be getting 10k feathers due to a wildly successful twitter campaign? So that's cool.

I get the sense FEH has legs in the community--it does for me at least. I've gotten tired of getting confused with which non-FEH thread I'm reading about FEH on, so I made a whole FEH thread! Please enjoy, and forgive my shepherding instincts from kicking in. Shepherd. Get it? [sees self out]

But... The reason this thread was made was because we had too many separate FE threads. Now I don't know where to post!

I don't think you'll get much extra from promoting through the ranks other than SP. The game says the stats reset to "base values for that rating" which tells me that they intend for all heroes at a given rank to have about the same stats. That extra SP could help a lot though, abilities are really strong.

it would still be unsurprising if the *final* dream team involved a group of heroes you had to level up to 5* from 3*. Hard to say. The last fire emblem game I played was whichever one was on the Game Cube.

Indeed... I think most of the conversation about FEH was here as well, with a smattering in the Nintendo Mobile thread.

I installed FEH, on the 3rd try got 1 4 star and 4 3 star heroes. I could see it really getting to be annoying to reload and keep trying. Should I really keep going until I get that 5 star hero? I've also seen that some of you have spent a few bucks to get stuff (Keeping it general because I have no idea what I'm really talking about yet). All I found in the store was the ability to buy orbs and upgrade my castle. I'm not seeing any sort of starter packs where you can get guaranteed higher level heroes. Am I missing something?

I would reload until you get at least one 5 star or until your sanity gives out.

There is no way to buy hero packs. Just the orbs that you saw that you're using to summon. There is no guarantee even if you spend money that you're going to get a 5 star hero. It's still all RNG.

I also suggest rerolling until you get a 5*. It will make a big difference in getting your next sets of orbs.

Totally worth rerolling! I got:

Altean Prince Marth - 5 star
Junior Whitewing Est - 4 star
Fateful Prince Corrin - 4 star
Altean Archer Gordin - 3 star
Viridian Knight Stahl - 3 star

Is it the best lineup? I have no idea. But I'm happy enough with this lineup to not have to go through it again to try for more.

I'm already around lvl 25 and not sure it's totally worth rerolling at this point. I already have Marth and a handful of good 4 stars.

The Stamina is driving me crazy, though. As you get further down the game, the amount of stamina you need to use is insane. Some story missions are 12 stamina and above. This is when training is half stamina and abilities are free. I don't think I can play this when the promos done.

Side note, FEH caused me to seek out a copy of Fire Emblem 12 to pair with the fan translation. I also bought my backup 3DS yesterday. So I'm not too into Fire Emblem Heroes yet, but it's reminded me to seek out more Fire Emblem.

I'm not too far in, but I'm really enjoying FE: Heros. It feels like a better implementation of what FF: Record Keeper wanted to be. I'm not sure just how much time I'll get in, but for now, seems fun.

That's a good lineup, dethroned. Heavy on sword users, but that should fix itself in time.

I wouldn't reroll at your point, tempest. You should have a pretty easy time finishing Hard, and probably even Lunatic to get more orbs. My main team is all 5* characters, but I'm now having to raise some 3* ones in order to have the right counters. Counting elements matters more than star rating.

Regarding stamina, you can spend 100 platinum Nintendo coins to buy a stamina potion from the quest reward screen. But if my time in record keeper is anything to go off, your best bet is finding many smaller play times. These games don't favor long play sessions.

How? Luck? Grinding? Spent some money and got lucky?

Sounds like a combination of painful rerolls and extreme luck on subsequent 20 orb pulls.

Oh and despite my disgust with rerolling, I was bored last night and tried again on my iOS device and after many tries I got 5* Marth, 4* Varion and another unremarkable 4* spear pegasus hero. Auto battle and skipping combat animation is your friend.

Varion with good stat rolls was eating up all the ranged and flying units, his speed is so high he usually pulls off double attacks which is enough to one-shot squishy units. Definitely recommend him as a counter hero.
