Fire Emblem Catch All

Okay, I think I've played enough of FEH to give a few starter tips:

1. Re-rolling: for your first draw, aim for at least one 5* and two 4*, preferably in red, green and blue variant, and your last draw a healer. Within them, hopefully you'll get 1-2 cavalry and at least 1 "armoured" unit (Cain, Effie and Gunter have armour, I'm sure there's a lot more that do). On the second draw, hopefully you'll pick up another 5* or otherwise a couple more 4*.

Reroll as many times as you like. It's a no-fuss reroll system - just go to account management, delete data, uninstall the app and reinstall. Doesn't matter if you linked your device to an Nintendo account. Warning: if you spent real money and you delete your account then there is no way to restore your deleted account.

b]2. Stats:[/b] Damage dealers with abilities on timers should have high attack and speed so their extra abilities (double attack and extra damage) come off their cooldowns a lot faster. If RNG on levelling up has been crappy then look to replace them. Your armored units will want a ton of HP, defence and attack (they will hit slow but hard, absorbing the pain until you can rotate to the correct rock-paper-scissor to take down the opponent.

3. Countering units: flying units are squishy to archers. I tend to avoid using them but it's literally the luck of the draw. If you are up against an armoured foe, try to use heroes that are effective against armour or otherwise fight with magical damage (tanky units usually have high defence but low resistance).

A major problem with this game is trying to get enough summoning orbs - 9 chapters, roughly 5 acts per chapter = around 45 orbs. Then you have to play higher difficulties for more orbs. With three difficulties, that's 45 x 3 = 135 orbs or 6 draws of free heroes assuming you can clear all difficulties. Plus, the hero feather things are going to be incredibly slow and painful to farm - 20,000 to upgrade 4* to 5*. Probably one upgrade a month based on redditor estimates.

I gave up on my quest for Lyn when the game gave me a 2x 5* (Sheena, Peri) and 2x 4* (Fir, Subaki) draw. I also kept getting freaking Roy (seriously, I deleted like 7 5* Roys) and was getting a bit fed up with that. I do not regret keeping this though, Sheena is a freaking monster. Nobody can touch her, not even casters. I had to go into an Intermediate level Arena match against a level 12 Gunter for her to even take any damage at all (spoiler: she still won). I predict she will carry me very far.

I loved Awakening and Fates but first impressions of this feel too much F2P game and not enough Fire Emblem for me, I think.

Are we exchanging friend codes here? I'm sure I'll keep playing for this month and then see beyond that.

I started a Google Sheet a while back for Nintendo Mobile games when Mario Run came out. You all are free to use that if you wish

Added everyone.

That's the thing that makes me consider rerolling. I have a couple of nice 4* heroes and I'm completing missions and pvp and everything. But doing the last 3 days over again with any 5* hero would save me a month or more in the long run. Hmm.

I started rerolling after a day, it was still worth it. Any of the natural 5* characters are significantly stronger than the rest.

Finally got enough for another 20 roll. Figured maybe I'll get a 5* now and why would I want to reroll?

Got duplicate 4* Marth and Nino.

Feels like I flushed those gems.

If I reroll I lose my 10 free My Nintendo gems. But maybe it's worth it. Blah.

Powering up marth is not a bad way to go. I just lost my first duel to a marth, he one shot my Sheena.

Where do I add friends and find my code?

Bottom left glowing stone in the castle.

And it won't let me combine with my existing Marth. Maybe because he's over level 20? Don't know.

I tried combining the free Virion on Friday or whatever. That worked. But this won't. Doesn't work for Nino either, also over level 20.

I did finally get my five star character unfortunately it came with a bunch of 3 stars. I just took it though. I was far too burned out restarting. Think I did it like 15 times.

Same here.

I added my friend code to the list too!

Aha!

Can't merge because the game auto-favorites 4-star heroes. And you can't dispose of a favorited hero.

Just added everyone who has posted.

So how are you supposed to get more orbs once the Campaign quests are all finished? I did notice new difficulties unlock as you beat the chapters but eventually those will run out too. Seems you'll either be forced to buy more orbs, live with just the 2 daily orbs they give you each day for logging in, or stop playing.

They will release paralogues, which I expect will be limited time events. Those will reward more orbs. This is how record keeper worked, I bet is how this will too.

EDIT: That said, this is an intentionally slow process. You might be able to summon once a week, if you play a lot.

I haven't posted my ID as I may be rerolling lol.

My Android account which is doing well initially drew 5* Cain (red mounted and I think armoured), 4* Peri (blue mounted DPS but squishy), 4* Maria (grey 2 range healer), 4* Bartre (green anti armour meat shield). Second draw I pulled 5* Fae (green holy dragon that is similar to Mance). Third draw was all 3* including duplicates of Sully, but one of them was Olivia (she can use her turn to give an ally another turn).

Even with this much luck, intermediate PVP can be a close call.

I'm enjoying FE Heroes quite well. Possibly should have rerolled some but just went with my original lowly gang. Added my friend code to the spreadsheet, but I'll include it here as well: 388 092 5305

Don't know if it was wise, but after doing a "full" recruit I spent all my orbs on leveling up my castle and bumping up to the 100% EXP bonus. It's expensive, but a one-time cost that made sense to make up front.

[edit: I don't know if my requests will show up as PewPewRobo (my Nintendo ID) or Guy (my in-game avatar)]

Yeah some people are saying to get the castle upgraded ASAP. Feel like the first 2 upgrades (1, 2 gems) are definitely worth it. Beyond that it's 5 or 8 and you're talking about missing multiple summons. I dunno.

I tried rerolling. 3 days of progress be damned. Got a 5* Chrom, and a couple more 4*s that seem ok.

Chrom is beast. And of course will be able to heal himself with Sol/Aether stuff soon. Think I might keep it.

Guess I need to re-link My Nintendo and repost friend code. Sorry for those that wasted time adding me.

I think level is the bigger factor in intermediate vs hard. Most of the intermediate teams I fought had maybe one 5*, but they were all level 12 and up.

That Marth though. So powerful.

...You've convinced me. I'm going to try re-rolling as well.

Added my Android account to the Google docs spreadsheet. Will progressively request invites later today. Everyone should be friends with each other for the free greeting bonus.

I decided to reroll the iOS account. A few days at lv 20 ish lost, but the alternative was to push ahead where it will take more than a month of PVP (based on subpar performance) to get enough feathers to upgrade a 4* to 5*. A few days is nothing compared to that desolate kind of grind.

Also, I like how Takuma and Ryoma look on paper - their unlimited ranged counters will be useful in PVE and PVP. But in the end, it's luck of the gachapon, I'm hoping for at least three 5* in the first two draws.

Oh, one other small incentive to reroll before the end of the weekend - starting plus weekend bonus = 3 orbs, so you'll only need two battles past the prologue to get 20 orbs for your first draw. It's the little things!

Yeah I noticed that.

I considered a 2nd account on IOS, but our old iPad 2 crashes every turn or so. I couldn't even get through the prologue. No way I'm going to deal with that, and no way I'm getting my wife's iphone away from her.

On my first roll I got a 5* Marth, and 4* Gwendolyn, Maria, and Corrin. I figured I wasn't going to do any better, so I kept it. My boy Marth is a beast. I don't know how long I'll play but I'm sending out friend requests. I've already gotten a few from some random people, and I don't know if there is a friend limit.

I rerolled several times and ended up with 5* Roy, Abel, and Fae. And a 4* Donnel. Figured that was good enough to start.

I'm not sure how many other rolls I should do before hording orbs.

And if Galaxy of Heroes taught me anything, it's that they'll just release new characters that are stronger than everything that's come before.

I could really use a good magic user though.

Updated spreadsheet with new ID

I wonder if some of you will end up with two Steles...

Edit: Requested everyone on spreadsheet so you don't have to re request me.

I had no idea what a slog it would be to get back to the point of first recruit! I gave up a super balanced team of two 4*s and two 3*s with full weapon coverage for a 5*Roy and three 4*s (Cecelia, Corrin and Kagero) with not nearly as much balance. (Cecelia and Kagero are both ranged) At the same time, they have a lot of extra maneuverability...Cecelia moves an extra space, and Roy can shove units around, making it a really mobile team. So cool.

I'm reentering my ID on the spreadsheet, and my handle is now properly PewPewRobo: 983 277 6173

Yeah I lost my 4* Lissa and still don't have any healer. But Chrom doesn't need it so far. Hehehe.

Got up to 20 again for a second roll and finally filled in more 4* at least. Gunter seems solid.
