Easy Allies Review
Whatever we may think about this moment, our practice is just to return to it. This moment is where all beings exist.

Rumor that Judgement is getting a sequel.
A tick/tock format between Yakuza and Judgment could be good and give the devs a bit of breathing room between entries, which used to be satisfied with spinoff like Dead Souls and Ishin.
How did I live before digital distribution of old, cheap games?
You did live before digital distribution of old, cheap games. Now you just play games.
It's because of the recent trademark, yeah? I'm not so certain since the Japanese name is Judge Eyes, but I will not turn down a sequel if they're making one.

Yes and no.
I'm excited to see Yakuza 6 coming to Game Pass. On the one hand, I just finished Like a Dragon and it was very long. On the other hand, I loved it but missed the beat 'em up gameplay of Yakuza 0, so... I'll probably download it and at least put a few hours in. Only having played Kiryu in Yakuza 0 and 1, it'll be interesting to check in with him as of Yakuza 6!

Awwww they took away the Pachinko.
Worst game of the series!
I'm playing Yakuza 5 right now, and man, just when I think these games can't surprise you anymore, I hit part 2, chapter 3.
Do you read Sutter Cane?
I know right!
I was not expecting yakuza to turn into a
slow methodical repetitive hunting sim.
And now I'm...battle dancing? I'm battle dancing.
I'm only in part three, but I think Yakuza 5 is the wildest game in the series.
Currently speed running legend difficulty on Yakuza Zero for the Platinum trophy. I almost bounced off of it during the Isobe dance battle the first time through, but I am so glad I stuck with this batsh*t insane game.
Quintin_Stone: Nice looking c*ck you got there, dimmerswitch.
BadKen: So what you're saying is that cops can look at my dick pics without a warrant.
*Legion*: my right hand spent most of those early-teen years in that grip position
So this morning I started Like a Dragon on stream, and plan to stream all the games. It'll take a while, but still, I LOVED it. Like, LOVED. I'm still thinking about it hours later.

Ah. A "comical" substory about fat shaming. Yep this is definitely a Yakuza game.
Never played a Yakuza game, am intrigued. Apologies I've jumped straight into the thread to ask a question that's probably been asked many times before. Which is a good game to kick off with? Yakuza Zero is on sale for £3.99 here at the moment, so thought I'd pop in and ask before picking it up and possibly spoiling if started there. Ta.
Yakuza Zero is an excellent starting point.

Nice one, thank you merphle.
I agree. Just don't expect all the others to be as good in terms of gameplay
Ta. Picked up and downloaded, keen to have a look.
So I stopped being a pop idol and now I appear to be a washed-up disgraced ex baseball player.
You reading my autobiography?
I just started Yakuza Kiwami last night and am enjoying it so far. It plays like more of the same of Zero, which I played a little over a year ago. I did forget about some of the weirder aspects; I blithely started the tutorial match of the "bug" (scantily-clad wrestling ladies) game and quickly closed my office door most of the way lest someone wander in and ask Questions to which I would not have had adequate answers.
What kind of pervert are you to find something filthy in a wholesome game for young children?
I've finished Yakuza 5 a little while ago. Man, that is a huge game - I think it's a bit too sprawling for its own good. Five protagonists all with their own subsystems and minigames is a bit much, and since you tackle them one at a time instead of alternating protagonists like in 0, you can forget what happened in one before you come back to them in the finale. Still a great game though, and I thought it was better than 4.
Yeah 5 seems the longest so far.
I started up Yakuza 6 via Game Pass the other day, but with the first hour being mostly cut scenes, just couldn't commit to it. I know how these games work, but the pacing is always a big hurdle for me to overcome, and trying to start 6 just told me I'm not ready. Too soon after completing Yakuza 7, much as I loved it! I clearly just need to be in the exact right headspace for these experiences. I'm sure I'll be back, I think the only question is whether I play 6 or if I wait until an Ichiban sequel is released.
Judgment Announcement on May 7th. Based on recent trademarks, my guess is a sequel announcement.
Ohhh maybe a PC port of Judgement too?
I mean, it's already coming to Stadia of all things. It'd be asinine to not release it on Steam as well, unless google decided to throw money at them to make it a Stadia exclusive, which...seems implausible.
Actually the rumor is that Google did exactly that to secure a temporary exclusivity on PC(ish). However, if the exclusivity isn't that long then a PC announcement would be nifty.
But...why though? I love this series, but I can't see Judgement being any kind of killer app that would drive traffic to Stadia as a platform. It's a cult series that has been gaining increasing traction, yes, but why would you pay exclusivity money for a game that's been on PS4 for over a year?
Then again, I am assuming google is making rational decisions, so maybe that's where I'm going wrong.
Yakuza 0 is currently $4.39 on Fanatical and having never played a Yakuza game I am both tempted and weary.
Politely rude. Briskly vague. Firmly uninformative.
