Conan Exiles - Crush Your Enemies, See them driven before you!

You don't have to worry about pvp going solo or single player. I think friends can join you for co-op in your single player area, but i don't know the rules for that.

Anyone know how many friends can join a coop session?

I'm still playing solo until a server is suggested.

So i just started up a server. Right now it's at a low player count. If you're not coffee grinder pm for password.

GWJ Exiles (107.173.81.54:39316)

Standard stats.

It's classified as pvp, but pvp is only activated on the weekends between 11am-5pm. Same rules as before. If someone says no. Then that means no. Buildings are also not attackable.

I've not played in forever so have no clue on value-of-life mods that are needed and out there.

Played a few hours in single player last night, initial thoughts are that it's a lot better than it was when I played a year ago. Kind of wish there was a better lead in to the story bits of the game though. Set up a little house, stored most my belongings, played with a few different weapons, and went and talked to the one friendly npc I know. Think I basically just need to level and find iron next.

I played a little bit last night after not touching the game since release. The combat is better, and there seems to have been a lot of content added. I can't wait to explore all the new biomes.

Too bad about the sorcery being cut. Maybe in a paid expansion.

Anyone playing or planning to play on PS4? Never played this game but I'm looking for something new and may pick it up.

A lot has changed for those that were first in, maybe a dirty rundown:

1. The attribute system now has bonuses every ten points. Most are pretty darn useful.

2. Crafting is overhauled. You can research the group, then click on the tabs up top to research individual things within (or hit the show all)

3. Stuff doesn’t aggro across the map, just los. You can drag mobs to kill other exiles too as they fight the fauna as well.

4. Need a skinning knife asap. Hides are hard to come by. There’s no hard level requirement for armor anymore either.

5. A lot of different ways to collect food, including farming and fishing. You can eat raw meat with a perk.

6. More gods. More monsters. Cats are awful. Just run.

7. Big combat overhaul. Personally, I’m digging the dagger attacks - cause bleeding and cripple? Yes please. They also included blunt spears to go with that truncheon for thrall taking.

8. Two new biomes. I’ve been to the wintry one but not the jungle. Tons to explore.

9. Climbing works. I have a hard time climbing down, but that may be just me.

10. Really a ton of other stuff, but that’s the stuff that pops out immediately

Yea i'm really liking all the changes. So many quality of life changes and brand new systems since i last played.

They have gardening, refrigeration, stoves, fishing, elevators!

I’ve noticed some subtle map changes as well that I hadn’t before. The large city out northwest has had its borders moved a bit.

And dang, taking a thrall is some serious dang work now.

What is the bearer thrall? I had no space for it in my small wheel so just killed it, but never seen it before.

Significant wildlife changes too. Where i'm located i'm used to seeing an occasional rhino and elephant. I spent a chunk of time last night trying to track them down and seen none. Crocs are no longer dropping thick leather as well so need to find a source for that.

Hmmm. If I have to kill rhinos, I’m a long way off. The good news is the guys I’m killing in the city are dropping real loot now, including weapons and upgrades food.

What is the death penalty like in this game?

Drop what you where carrying respawn at last bed or bedroll with half health. Need to do a corpse run to get your gear back.

That doesn't sound bad. I imagine you eventually get some kind of storage at your home or base or whatever?

Yes you can build small storage boxes very early on.

just don't die in water. can't loot your body when that happens. It was definitely the way it was in EA and i think it happened to Blacksheep on our new server as well.

Yeah. Lost a lot of hard earned bark during a sandstorm

Elephants are located in the pee colored area on the map. They HURT! So bring regens. A single one is enough to get around 50-70 thick hides after you're done processing. Which is enough to craft at least 2 heavy armor pieces. Still not seen rhinos.

I’d play at work, but the connection is pretty spotty. That’s a recipe for death in this game. I have lots of rhinos so I might try them. I need to work on my t2 base building before that anyway. I’m level 20 something and am still sleeping under the stars

Man, deciding where to put up a base is HARD.

Its because of two things as I see it (I play solo, so playing online may of course be a different experience)

1) I have no idea what level ranges the different areas are supposed to be
2) I have no idea what ingredients will be needed to upgrade my crafting later on.

Currently, I am level 26, and moved up north to the highlands, because I wanted to see them. So great to be out of the desert for a little bit. Then I learn that at level 30 I need steel, which needs brimstone, which is NOT found there

Also - the swamp! And all the rest of places! How do you guys decide where to go, and where to build? I LOVE BUILDING, so thats probably also why I have bases in three places now.

I just bought this last night. I'm playing solo. It's my general preference, but I'm wondering if I'm missing out on stuff, like sieges and whatnot?

The Feat tree is a bit confusing. I spent 15 minutes last night trying to work out how to craft leather from hide before I realized that there were a ton of feats that I hadn't activated yet. Now I have to find a sh*t-ton of wood.

In the desert, near the pirate ship is pretty solid, as is by the big camp up north near the oasis.

The pirate ship area has it all: including the other farmables - aloe along the river, heavy leather by far to the west, brimstone on the plains and in the cave, plenty of iron, and of course slaves and silk from spiders near the river as well.

Yea the idea is to move north to where iron and coal is in heavy abundance.

I've taken a huge chunk near the pirate ship, but after watching videos on the new areas it seems they're level 30+ and where the super high end mats are located so i'm going to reduce my expansion in that area and start looking north as well.

There's still a TON of good places out here and it's resource rich.

It even has a cave nearby with brimstone that i didn't know existed till last night! I was trekking my happy butt all the way south to the cave there during the EA.

Is that the cave by the ‘road’ that goes from the starting river up to the plateau where the dafari and the large dafari camp is? Kind of hidden on the right side cliff face as you ascend halfway? That’s the one I know of.

You'll still be affected by the purge and how much depends on the setting you're playing on.

I've waffled about having building pvp turned on or not on our server, but figured i'd just play on a public server for that part of the game.

Oh you'll need a sh*t-ton of EVERYTHING.

Nope this is up by the pirate-ship. It's literally at the bottom of the next ridge south of my base i had there in EA. It's either new or i walked by it 100+ times during my time there before.

Edit: It's the black mark SW of the red x (red x is actually where my current base is located)

Well, what I described is a brimstone cave that I know of not far from that large oasis from the starting river that a lot of people built on in the last Conan gwj server.

The alkaline lake up north now has noxious vapors that do dot dmg whip in it and the pillars of brimstone can only be mined once. Ok in a pinch but really not the best for loading up. Looks like when I’m back in the game, I’ll have to do a run to a cave and get on mining a ton of it.

As an aside, I figured out what the obilesks are for: Fast travel
