So this thread of the week link, its not here right? The comparison/review of vr-sets. I can't seam to find it in the forum.

Have not listened to the CC yet but I assume you are looking for this: Comparison/Review of all 3 VR's after 100+ hours in VR.

Yes! Thank you!

I still don't see why everyone is fussing over the people in the switch ad. It's the tech I'm interested in. The people may as well be attractive coatracks to let me see the product. I read the ad as "stuff you can do with this technology." Not "now you can go to swanky rooftop parties and impress your friends with a portable Wii!"

Maybe I'm just weird that way. I don't care if an ad represents my life, only whether it shows a product I want.

Good to hear the Allumette discussion! The more word of mouth on that the better.

I was prepared to give Battlefield 1 a total pass, but now...I'll wait until I've worked myself up to suffer through World War 1.

On recognising things from games in real life:

There is a particular bird call that was used in the levels of Myth: The Fallen Lords that occasionally appears in wildlife documentaries (usually North America or Canada related.) I always have a little thrill of recognition when I hear it.

There is also a frog call in the second home base you get in Dragon Age: Inquisition that is identical to a frog call from Elwynn Forrest in WoW but I'm guessing DA:I doesn't count as real life.

IT COUNTS TO ME.

All of the Nintendo not getting rid of the 3DS sounds like Nintendo's same talk about not getting rid of the Game Boy when they launched the original DS. And we remember how that worked out.

Rabbit talking about LoL Worlds and Battlefield 1 and Really Bad Chess all the same episode! He truly knows the keys to my heart.

The introvert from the Nintendo ad has a name - Karen - and a subreddit dedicated to her

That caption is totally ripping off what Certis said.

Spoiler:

...unless Certis ripped that caption off...

I believe Shawn called her "Weird Cindy."

I found "Karen" endearing.

But then, I don't drink (or go to parties) so the fact that other people use non-conventional social lubricants doesn't bug me.

There was a guy I once saw folding balloons on the streets of Melbourne to the Mario theme. That was a bit of a trip for me, not that I've played Mario.

My ringtone was once the Katamari theme.

I wouldn't say it really transports me, but sometimes I see architecture bits and flaps that remind me of Fortnite. Otherwise, I'd struggle to think of an example that isn't "I heard some videogame music". Good pick with the bird calls, Higgledy.

I'm guessing the bird call is rare enough for me that it's irrevocably tied to Myth.

Thomas and Karen sitting in a tree top playing the Switch's local co-op.

Hahahahhaha

Amanda's low grunt when Certis said 'Switching it up.'

For what it's worth, I'd say the play of Battlefield 1 feels mostly like incremental improvements, but the narrative scheme fits the play better (especially for brief moments sprinting without cover).

Maybe I just die a lot in Battlefield games.

Just wanted to chime in on cleaning the VR headsets and 3D glasses at the theater. At work we clean the visitor glasses with solution and then pop them in a UV "oven" for a couple of minutes. I imagine the 3D glasses go through a similar set-up. Cleaving VR headsets however may only be able to get a Lysol wipe-down.
