Discussion about the third--and thankfully final--presidential debate.
Date: Wednesday, October 19th
Time: 9:00 PM to 10:30 PM ET
Moderator: Chris Wallace, Anchor, Fox News Sunday
Location: University of Nevada, Las Vegas
The third presidential debate will be the same format as the first presidential debate: six time segments of approximately 15 minutes each on major topics. Wallace will open each segment with a question, after which each candidate will have two minutes to respond. Candidates will then have an opportunity to respond to each other. Wallace will use the balance of the time in the segment for a deeper discussion of the topic.
Wallace has chosen the following topics for debate:
- Debt and entitlements
- Immigration
- The economy
- The Supreme Court
- Foreign hot spots
- Fitness to be president
Aww man you had me thinking it was tonight
Considering Chris Wallace and Fox News, I predict it will be a lot of Trump softpedaling. He will be perceived to have "won" the debate because he will be allowed to Gish Gallop the hell out of Clinton uninterrupted.
And it won't make a difference in the polls.
This is where Netflix should take advantage of the situation and release a new series to binge watch.
Is it over yet?
Is it over yet?
This post also applicable to fans of the Chicago Cubs and the bulk of NFL teams in divisions with the regional marker South.
As with the first two, I'm tempted to skip this debate but I know I'll watch it. Watching those have been a load of fun while following the real time jokes coming from Twitter, but it's like a wild party where the horror of what happened sinks in the next morning.
From reports I've watched, his denials is sexual assault in the last debate are what prompted some of his accusers to come forward, so that's one sort of positive.
In fear for your liver because of presidential debate drinking games? Try presidential debate yoga.
I'm sure Trump's strategy of bringing in Obama's half-brother will really rattle Obama's debate performance tonight.
More seriously, it seems to presage a move to even narrower appeal, particularly if he intends to double-down on birtherism to fire up his core base. Which might be his best strategy to get out the vote. (It also sounds completely unhinged.)
Thank you for reminding to pick up whiskey on the way home from work.
As Hillary said in the first debate, by the end of the night you're going to be blaming me for everything that's happened in the world and his response was "Why not?". The strategy seems to be working for a large percentage of people.

Yeah, I get the feeling that tonight is going to be Trump throwing every alt-right conspiracy about Hillary against the wall because he literally has nothing left to lose.
Even money on Trump at some point directly accusing Clinton of rigging the election is the bet I would wager.
Well played, Excedrin!

So we're going to talk about Bill Clinton's affairs, Obama being born in Kenya and whatever stream of consciousness enters Trump's brain.
Saw on Twitter Trump skipped his debate prep session and is still hanging out at his hotel.

Classy.
I can't do it. Had fun last time, but the weight of all this...
I'm almost in tears just thinking about what (it feels like) things have come to. I am so sad to live in America right now. We are filled with so many one-dimensional individuals who think it's okay to be an unapologetic asshole as long as they love God* and Guns. Oh, and family. It's always God, Guns, Family, #MAGA.
*the one true God Trump will unite us over. If there's a higher power, he's regretting a whole lot of free-will giving right about now. At least that's what I want to believe.
Have... have fun? all. I'll be hanging out on Steam, maybe playing some Heroes of the Storm - feel free to hit me up.
It's depressing as shit that there are 4 Trump signs on my street, but those are literally the only ones I've seen anywhere around town, except for one business on the outskirts. One Hillary sign I've seen, too. Other than that, only a handful of local races, and nowhere near as much of the usual irritation that comes with elections.
Can't wait til early voting starts Monday.
We've been using the Trump signs as markers for future neighborhoods we WON'T consider.

I really think that the Shy Clinton Supporter is much more of a phenomenon than the Shy Trump Supporter. (I am in one of the more liberal areas of PA)

I've already voted. To paraphrase Trump, Clinton could literally go out on the street and shoot someone and my vote would still be cast for her.
May this election end mercifully and painlessly.
I forgot Wallace was moderating this. I think his need to smugly needle Clinton is only going to be softened by his corporate masters' need to distance themselves from Trump now.
The NBC feed is playing overdramatic recaps of background news. The C-SPAN feed is picking up random background chatter from the audience. I picked C-SPAN.
I'm on the WaPo feed, which is random background chatter and some analysis/predictions:

Should I watch the debate? Or settle for just pulling my fingernails out, slowly?
So the debate is going to be one long ad from Trump for his new TV channel.
I know it had been rumored and suggested but Bannon seems like he will be the head of the network.
Bannon did not deny talk about a potential "Trump TV" network or streaming service after the election. When asked if there is anything to the rumors, Bannon responded with a smile and said, "Trump is an entrepreneur."
The question came up again later, and he answered in exactly the same way: "Trump is an entrepreneur."

I just filled out my absentee ballot. Gosh, I should have waited for the debate so I could have made an informed decision.
