I’m life staff main because it’s next to impossible to die while holding a life staff but the hammer is really fun to break out once in a while.
I just made a character on the server as well. I went for originality - I call her... "Vypre"
Excited to have a bunch of GWJ folks in the same server! I've got a metric tonne of iron ingots in Windsward if anyone ever needs some.
I made a Mortalgroov on Riallaro!
I just hit lvl 30 and almost have all my gathering skills up to 100 and have not done any PvP so if you aren't interested in that aspect you'll still be ok.

Once you select Covenant faction we can send out an invite to the guild.
Hehehe! I am on the "choose" quest right now and I was about to post and ask which one.
Thank you.
Ok also re-rolling on Riallaro. Going with Joe Grym. Yippee!
Same here - just leveled to 11 on the server. My friend and I are doing a hot sauce motif so I’m Cholulla. Trying to go fire mage but man it’s tough - may switch back to hatchet.
My one concern is that it seems Covenant is completely outgunned. Do you guys think that might change?

Holy wow, Doc, we all in fantasy football kinda thought you were dead!
If you transfer does all your stuff in storage also transfer?

Just going by Steam achievement stats it seems Covenant is lagging behind both other factions globally in New World. Of the people who have joined a faction globally:
31.9% are Syndicate
27.7% are Marauder
13.8% are Covenant
Edit: More achievements fun facts:
- More people have played the game for 80+ hours than joined the Covenant (17.0% vs 13.8%)
- People are clearly abusing the Boar farm as 10.6% of players have reached max tracking/skinning level which is 26x more than the next closest max skill level of mining (0.4% of players)
Yeah Covenant was always going to be the least popular based on early hype. Syndicate and Marauder were always the ones to pick, with the green faction, I think that is Marauder, being the most popular in most betas that I played in.
They probably needed to tweek the explanations also. As a new to the game person, Marauder sounded like bandits and Covenant sounded like zealots.

Steam achievements seem to be broken. I've got 40+ hours, but somehow only 1 achievement shows up in steam. I assume at some point that will get fixed, and it will look like I had a very productive day!

Yes, all items transfers, including house and furnishings. Also all quest progress and faction standing will transfer.
The Boar farm is probably a spawn bug, as they spawn very fast can be easily grouped/agro u. So you are pulling 5+ boars at once and aoe em down. Their spawn is a little camp so they are close together. The spawn rate just needs a tweak to a longer rate which I would assume it would happen as this spot is all over videos/forums to exploit. This is used more for character level than skinning level.
Gathering/mining/collecting everything has my skill s up but it is causing a storage problem for me. Also, I'm lvl 31 and can craft starmetal tools but can't actually use them until lvl 40

Do you have a house yet? You can add storage to the town by putting chests in your house.

Some of these you might already know, but you can store materials in each settlement, though you can only remotely extract from settlements that share your faction. Prioritize storage cards when gaining zone faction. And don't be afraid to bulk sell your iron/gold/silver/wood.
Ah I chose Syndicate so maybe a transfer won't work for me
Deleted and recreated my character - wasn't 100% happy with the name and hairstyle, and she was only lvl 14, so no biggie.
New character on Riallaro is "Sea Shantey", in case someone wants to send me a company invite
The game lied to me. I hit Territory Standing level 10 in Everfall and it says you can buy a house. I've been selling a lot of steel tools and bags, so I have enough, went shopping.
Turns out there are no 'tier 1' houses in Everfall, only the higher tiers which require more gold, higher standing.
I think I'm gonna be tapering off my play time soon. While I like the looks and the pve part mechanics. It is hella repetitive. If I'm supposed to use storage in different areas then it should not cost anything to port between towns as long as you use the portal device. Otherwise you can get low real quick on aether stuff because you won't be able to craft everything in every town due to crafting station levels.
Also, as I posted above, I can see a loop of gathering and not being able to use the fruits of those labors without a ton of grinding. Plus, tbh the story content for pve is pretty thin right now.
I did get almost 60 hours out of the game the last few weeks so I can say I got my money's worth ($40) but I know MMOs are also looking to keep making that money. I throw money at GW2 in game store stuff even when I'm burned out and taking breaks from the game.
Hopefully they'll be able to flesh out the game in the future.

You lasted longer than I did.. I gave it a few days of play and got to mid 20's and got super bored.. it's clear to me that the PVE side is something they thought of very late in development.. the mechanics of what makes a PVE style MMORPG are just not there in any shape or form.. I honestly think they would have been better off sticking to the PVP Faction vs Faction approach and ditch PVE all together.. they would have a smaller audience for sure but it would probably be a much more enjoyable game.
Good news is there is no sub fee so I can keep tabs on it from afar and see what happens.. I also noticed the Twitch numbers took a nosedive this last week.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I have friends who run the whole war scene on another server and while that seems fascinating, I also know I don't have that kind of time. The max level grind in this game just feels way too hardcore compared to say GW2. Heck, it feels hardcore compared to FF 14 but that could be just because it's so repetititive.

I have a stressful job situation going on and I enjoy the monotonous, simple, and repetitive nature as a form of relaxation/meditation. I find it's a chill atmosphere as there's no need to rush to max level since nothing is really there yet. So I spend a couple hours here and there just gathering in the low level areas and crafting.
I have only cleared one town/area of quests and hardly touched any others. I've otherwise gotten to level 38 solely on crafting and gathering. I have made a ton of fishing poles, light armor, silver settings, and oddly mana potions sell well.
The update yesterday brought Free Server Transfers to worlds not listed as full:
https://www.newworld.com/en-us/news/...
Now my group of 3-4 needs to find a new home since our server is 'light' population it will only get more vacant. Kroclylea or Rollero? I will check if those show as full later on.
