I decided to just put a John Oliver clip in this thread and change the name and scope rather than start a separate thread for Oliver's stuff.
So just put any video stuff in here; Samantha Bee, John Oliver, Seth Green, etc.
I didn't see the McConnell comment coming. Just blurted "Holy shit" in front of the kids. Whoops.
Bit late to do a CRT explainer. But ok.
I don't want to even post it (and lord knows if it goes here anyway), but YT just happened to serve me Colbert's monologue on the Ukraine invasion from last night and.......
..............................................he's so much better than that. At least, he can be. Colbert is capable of discussing these things with empathy, humor, intelligence and righteous fury, and they've got him out there doing a shitty Leno monologue about people hiding in subway stations from bombs.
I'm sure Fallon et al did similar, but worse, but I'm more disappointed in Stephen, because I know he's better than that, and that was embarrassing.

Why did you make me watch that? I only got through 3 minutes, because that was painful. He definitely could do better. Makes me wonder who's got what on him.

I certainly agree, that was lazy. Friday shows are taped right after Thursday's show so they're usually not very good. The previous night was 'better' but we all need to remember, he's an entertainer not a journalist. For that, he calls in journalists like Julia Ioffe
Here this is better to watch.
...is that the president? Damn, he works those heels!
I see your Single Ladies dance and raise you a penile piano duet.

Oh I don't disagree at all, Stephen's not Walter Cronkite or something. But even as an entertainer, he's so much better than that. That's the crux of my frustration there. Someone capable of addressing this in a heartfelt, meaningful but still funny way, rolling out the laziest schtick on earth.

Anyone who's watched The Colbert Report knows he wasn't living up to his potential that night.
Okay, last Zelensky satirical non-clip - the role that arguably set him up for the presidency
The most accurate depiction of watching Tucker Carlson I’ve ever seen-
For anyone unfamiliar with Aamon, he makes cosmic horror animations heavily influenced by Hideo Kajima, Resident Evil, and Berzerk, using sound clips from politicians and pundits.
I just ran across this and it's brilliant. I had to come and here and see if someone posted it. Looks like farley3k did but for some reason their link doesn't seem to work for me, so here it is again.
Sean Hannity Cleverly Trolls Donald Trump from Jimmy Kimmel Live
Let's be reasonable, if I asked you what you were doing on some totally arbitrarily selected date, I bet you couldn't remember either!
I miss him

George Carlin- On abortion and pro life supporters
In general it's preferable to talk in positives - women's basic rights obviously here - but maybe a bit of Carlin sprinkled in here and there when high-profile Democrats debate Republicans wouldn't hurt. There's way too much "but at least it's an ethos" leeway given to "pro-lifers".
