I decided to just put a John Oliver clip in this thread and change the name and scope rather than start a separate thread for Oliver's stuff.
So just put any video stuff in here; Samantha Bee, John Oliver, Seth Green, etc.
*How in goodnesses name does her crew get people to say such insanely stupid, contradictory stuff?
Easy, they don't believe it's either.

They leave the mic on.
...in a way, perhaps we have been always heading towards this historic moment. The first female presidential nominee versus the human embodiment of every backwards, condescending, Mad Men-esque boys’ club attitude that has ever existed, rolled into one giant, salivating dick-size-referencing, p*ssy-grabbing warthog in a red power tie.I’ll put it this way: if American democracy is a computer game, and Hillary is completing women’s 100-year quest to get to the Oval Office, it kind of makes sense that this would be the final boss.

At any rate, I'm juggling these questions daily as this political year comes to a close, and I was wondering what you all, fellow fans and subscribers to the modern American satire sphere, would think in response.
That was a really well thought out and well referenced post that is probably a good candidate for a discussion post elsewhere.
The one main point of contention I have with the premise though is this: Satire is not journalism. It's being made to carry that weight right now though because of the parlous state of modern journalism. That doesn't mean it should be held to the same standard, it means journalism should be held to that standard.
@Maq I've contemplated starting a topic on that subject and probably will after the election. For now though, segments like this just help me stay sane and I don't have the energy to challenge the source of that catharsis.
As a bleeding heart liberal, watching this week's Full Frontal and Last Week Tonight back to back was a nice outlet for righteous outrage. Sam Bee especially has been fantastic about channeling the anger that I've got that it took this long for the Republicans supporting him to finally stop.
Though Oliver's opener, saying "remember last week, when I said look up, way up, and see that? That's rock bottom. Well, look up there now. That thing up way up there now? That's where we were this time last week" was a pretty good summation.
Oh man, she's on fire in this segment.
And Ana Navarro absolutely loses it from 4:15 on. It's beautiful. Good on her for calling out.
Madame Boss FTW
We were waiting on you to do it.
WEST PALM BEACH, FL—Responding to his flagging poll numbers and a string of newspaper editorials and cable news pundits questioning his fitness to lead, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump reportedly complained to a rally crowd Thursday that for the entirety of this race, his personality has been rigged against him. “From day one, my internal thought processes and overall temperament have completely stacked the deck against my candidacy—it’s so obvious, folks, you can’t deny it,” said Trump, claiming that all facets of his character, from his egocentric worldview to his brash, vitriolic responses to even the smallest and most inconsequential provocations, have been colluding to ruin his chances of ever reaching the Oval Office. “Open your eyes, people! Just look at how I routinely project the fear and hatred inside of me onto others, or my total lack of impulse control, conscientiousness, and tact. My personality is doing everything—and I mean everything—to make sure I never have a chance.” Trump then reportedly vowed that no matter how many of his own character traits aligned against him, he would never let his personality stop him from becoming president, drawing raucous cheers from the crowd.
It was utterly unsurprising to learn that Gary Johnson is the sort of guy who says "I conquered Everest!" rather than the much more likely "The sherpas I hired helped me get an ever-more-common rich white guy cheevo!"
