Hi:
Playing Fire Emblem: Awakening, one of the real joys is adventuring with your son/daughter, and basically adventuring as a family. That made me wonder, what games have as its focus adventuring as a family unit? I know in games like Baldur's Gate you adventure with your sister, but most of the time the game kills off your parents (mostly for making you alone)... I figure this would most apply to RPGs and the like.
"X-Wing Alliance" had you playing the son in a family of...traders. I don't remember if they stick around very much during the game though or not. it's...been a while.
inactive here until further notice.
Lost Odyssey has an immortal main character who goes adventuring with his annoying speaky-voiced grandchildren.
I'm being meaner than I need to - it's one of the best JRPGs I've ever played. And it's far from the worst offender for squeaky-voiced awfulness.
You've never known true joy until you've shaken a lich stick at someone.
Dragon Quest V did this well.
"Who are you?! And how did you get in here?!"
"I'm the locksmith. And... I'm the locksmith."
Brothers?
This isn't out yet, but Children of Morta is an upcoming roguelike where the different characters are all members of a family.
Now Playing: Super Mario Odyssey
Hero Generations, kind of?
More of a dynasty model than a family, but still.
You've never known true joy until you've shaken a lich stick at someone.
Crusader Kings! Not adventuring as such, and often you need to murder your family, but I think it fits.

In Rogue legacy, each new character is a child of the previous character. Massive chalice also has a family based mechanic.
