Humble Monthly Gamble Discussion Thread

New bundle for the next month is up. Anyone have insight on the gimmie games?

From the upcoming Monthly, The Long Dark made my GOTY Top 10.

Best survival sim on the market. Fantastic game.

Yeah, I've not done the Monthly Gamble before, but I'm really tempted by this one. Quantum Break and The Long Dark are both on my wishlist...

Agree on The Long Dark. Really well done game.

Pretty unimpressive month for me because I already had DoW3, Tomb Raider and Sleepy Dogs. I'm not very interested in the other games. I still think it was a good value for Quantum Break (which I'm enjoying) and The Long Dark which I haven't started yet (despite the ridiculous amount of snow we've seen in SC this week).

I already have Civ 6, so I guess I'm out for next month.

Yeah, probably the least impressive month for me as well. All I really wanted was Sleeping Dogs. The rest...meh...

Half good for me. Looks like Square Enix gave them a deal for both Sleepy Dogs and Tomb Raider. The other half is good for me.

I never got around to trying Civ 6. Looks like next month is a must have for me at least!

Annoyingly, Hiveswap Episode 1 was one of the few things I picked up in the Sale though. Doh!

2 hours/2 weeks - if you haven't played/owned longer than that, you can get a refund through Steam.

Back in this month for Civ6 seems like it will be worth while especially with the expansion on the horizon.

Humm...

I've already got Civ 6, what to do.

I'm thinking about hopping in for this one. For those who've played Civ 6, how's the multiplayer? I heard something awhile back on 3 Moves Ahead where they tried to implement some multiplayer modes that can be finished in an hour or two, which would be great.

At least you get a new civilization dlc too. And the worst dlc they can offer (scenario).

Not feeling too great about this month. The Long Dark has been pretty good so far, Dawn of War 3 was rubbish, and Quantum Break likely won't even run on my PC so I'm leaving it alone for now.

Sleeping Dogs is probably the only game out of the full unlocks that I may check out. Not because I really want to, but because everyone keeps raving about it. Mr Shifty is supposed to be good, but I'm all HotlineMiami-ed out.

Oh well, not all months are going to be great. I still got my money's worth though, so I can't exactly complain. I do own Civ 6, but I still see value in these bundles so I'll likely pay for it a bit later and throw a code on the forum for someone to grab later.

The only multiplayer I've touched is with my girlfriend who plays on her laptop next to me from time to time. They did add a much faster gamemode which we often defaulted to, and both enjoyed it quite a bit.

Aint got the time in my life for 10+ hour games of Civ, so it's a welcome addition.

It only cost, like, a couple of quid so it's probably not worth the effort I'd rather just keep a spare key handy for gift giving at some point.

It's really a good one and a spiritual successor to a game I really enjoyed back in the day True Crime Streets of LA. I didn't know this when I first fired it up and it hit so many nostalgic notes for me. So, yeah loads of fun. I already own it but now I want to fire it up. Basically GTA but you're an undercover cop.

After talking with some people who have Civ 6, I wound up hopping in for this month.

And then I learned I can grab some free games in the Humble Trove. I'm downloading Shelter and Gone Home, since I had a passing interest in them. Any other games in there I shouldn't miss? I already had the Torchlights and Strike Suit Zero.

Dustforce is pretty great! It may feel a bit clunky to begin with, but stick with it.

Personally, I've spent waaay too much time just listening to the soundtrack.

I enjoyed Fallen Enchantress. Shadowrun Returns is also in there.

Getting Over It is in the Trove. I've played 10 minutes of that game, and I am basically back where I started. Twice.

I quickly found out that game is much more enjoyable to watch other people struggle through than to do it yourself.

Seconded on both counts. It’s probably the most soothing difficult platformer I’ve ever played thanks to that soundtrack.

In addition to Civ6 and the two DLCs, the February Humble Monthly also has an early unlock of Owlboy.

Civ 6 for $12 wasn't getting enough people? Are we hitting mass Civ burnout?

I know after 5, I took a wait and see pass with Beyond Earth, only picking it up cheap. Civ 6 felt so soon afterward that I knew I'd wait for a steep sale or bundle. I own it now, but I wasn't really pining hard for it. I just know it won't be $12 for quite some time yet so I may as well get it now and see.

If I hadn't already owned it I would have been all in.

I picked the bundle up to give the code to my SO, who was interested.

Owlboy made me unlock it early. I have the hardest time getting into Civ games

I wasn't going to get it for Civ, but I forgot to cancel my subscription. I was going to ask for a refund, but Owlboy was actually on my list. So that's one for them.

I'm actually in the exact same boat. Though I may still ask for a refund, since I already own Civ, and would probably prefer Owlboy on the Switch. I've got a few days to decide.
