Humble Monthly Gamble Discussion Thread

Feels like a heavy action JRPG emphasis this month. Children of Morta is the only thing on my wishlist, but some of the puzzler/adventure games look pretty good. I'm leaning ... in.

So basically I'll not decide now and realize too late that I've already missed the deadline to pause.

Couldn’t have said it better.

I'm pausing this month. I have Children of Morta on the Switch, and had my few hours of fun with the game. There's nothing else in there to my taste.

I'm impressed a number of you have paused until now. I, however, haven't paid a luck of attention to Humble since they switched formats. I'm not sure that was their intention...

I'm still holding out hope that there will be a deal worth $12, and I'm still on the classic subscription model... So I just pause each month after I see someone has posted here about it.

this month

PC BUILDING SIMULATOR
ANCESTORS: THE HUMANKIND ODYSSEY
PATHOLOGIC 2
WARHAMMER: CHAOSBANE
TOTAL TANK SIMULATOR
SONG OF HORROR COMPLETE EDITION
NOT TONIGHT
VAMPIRE: THE MASQUERADE - SHADOWS OF NEW YORK
TALES OF THE NEON SEA
MINORIA
DELEVELED
THE AMBASSADOR: FRACTURED TIMELINES

Not sure anything here jumps out at me, might be my first pause in a long time. Someone change my mind!

I've been paused for about the past 3-4 months, and it doesn't look like that's changing any time soon...

I've only claimed 1 out of the last 6 and my 12 month subscription has lasted over 2 years. I have one more month left - after that I've switched it to month-to-month instead of yearly.

What a dud month.

Pathologic 2 is an incredible fever dream. It's really unlike anything out there.

A game that demands you play on its own terms. That is openly willing to let you miss out on content (you're given more goals than you have time for each day and you have to make tough decisions prioritizing your daily schedule). And it's ultimately stronger, purer, for the absence of concession.

A brilliant oddity wrapped in high production values that typically mark the absence of risk-taking.

Actually seems like a good month. But I already own the 3 games I would be interested in.
Outward - Tried it for a short moment. Felt quite awful to play unfortunately, but it seems like their might be an unpolished gem in there.
Trine 4 - Played it last year. Liked it.
Endless Space 2 - sitting in my pile.

Yeah this is a good month for me too. First time I don't own any games on the list and two of them are on my wishlist (Valkyria Chronicles & Trine 4). Outward seems like something I'd at least like to check out. A few of the indies look ok too like Valfaris and Lovecrat's Untold Stories.

I'm in for an early purchase for the Choice this month.

I skipped this month then went to browse games that I hadn't claimed for the last few months. I tried to claim Ancestors: THO but nope. It looks like anything in January or prior is "No longer available for purchase". I used to be able to browse my old unclaimed stuff and gift keys or pick something up that I recently heard a on podcast or read about. There goes a big part of keeping this thing around.

I feel like the content on Gamepass is significantly better so I'm gravitating towards that when I want to try something new. I know it's a bit apple to oranges but if I'm not spending time with these games, and they disappear quickly if I don't claim them, I'm not sure there is much value to me anymore.

Edit: I think I'm wrong as it's hard to tell what months I paid for, or skipped, so maybe I skipped those months. Or maybe it's with certain games? I was able to claim Crying Suns from October.

If anyone skipped this month but really wants Control, I have an extra key. PM me if you want it. Regular grinder rules apply.

Claimed.

Thanks very much for Control PWAlessi! I'm looking forward to playing it this weekend

I'm only interested in 2 games this month, have the right to 3, so who wants Control? No grinders etc.

Enjoy, Hobear!

Will do!

Are you talking about the Ancestors that was bundled into Choice in December 2019? I apparently paid for that month and I can still make choices there. I only have a few months paid for since Choice started (because the options just haven't been particularly well targeted to my interests) but all the months I paid for are still available for unlocks.

If you go through the Keys and Entitlements page it'll show you the months that you paid for as you'll have a big button on the right to click on to take you to the choices.

What a fantastic bundle this month! I already own the headliners so I'm pausing. Regardless, they've really picked up their game! Such a juicy deal.

I'm pretty curious about Wildfire. Would love to hear thoughts on it from anyone who gets the bundle!

I've been watching a Let's Play of Control and I'm really excited about that one. Looks like a ton of fun.

I went in earlier this week and claimed 30+ keys for December-February and everything went fine. I think I've claimed some much older keys too at some point and don't recall having any issues.

I wanted some opinions, as I like this formula, I'm beginning to see some down side.

I tend to have less and less hours of playtime, so I'm eyeing others services, maybe for a fraction of the cost.

Since gaining new games isn't a value to me, would a gaming as a service be an alternative? Services like Ea or Xbox are now offering such option, would those services be a direct competition for the hb's offerings?

I hate losing perks as I'm on a grandfather plan, just wanted to know if it's a good tradeoff. Thanks

Edit : Well, I tried pausing for 1 month, and they offered me a discount. Guess I'll try out both solution.

You can just keep pausing each month forever. I am pausing most months now, since they have become quite lackluster.

I've paused for quite a few months now. Not sure if it's my tendency to overspend on silly sales or the bundles have just been stale, but I haven't been excited in a while.

Still on the old (good) plan, so it doesn't look like there's any reason to fully cancel.

Yup, you can pause forever. They also usually offer a discount on the month if you go to pause too. That does mean you have to actually remember to pause every month, but they're usually willing to refund if you forget every once in a while.

Not a great Humble Choice for me. Aven Colony was pretty good, but I've got it. Sniper Contracts may be decent and Popup Dungeon has me interested, but I can’t say I want either a ton. Popup Dungeon would be the bigger draw for me. I actually almost bought that one last sale.

I was a little disappointed this month myself. There are a couple I'll probably check out, but this one definitely didn't have me excited.

F1 2020 makes it worth my while by itself, Simulacra seems pretty cool too. Not sure what I will pick as my 3rd option, so if anyone wants just one game from the bundle let me know so I can gift it to you. First one wins

In Other Waters is pretty amazing.

Intriguing landscape, fantastic writing, super clean & sexy minimalist design.

I'm going to grab this one.

I haven't played the F1 games in a while but I've heard good things.

I wasn't likely to buy Shenmue 3 but this is an easy way to try it. I did play the first two so long, long ago.

In Other Waters looks interesting and Skully looks up my alley.

I think I'm sold.
