NFL 2016: Offseason: OTAs / Dead Zone / Gumbie Loves Kickers!

Troy Aikman calls out Fox for hiring worthless Skip Bayless.

He's not wrong.

This may be the only time I ever enjoyed watching Skip Bayless.

Well there was also this catchy little tune.

Here's your WYTS for the Panthers. Drew is 1,000 percent right about Jerry Richardson.

Also, this comment:

It’s hard to complain about a team that went 15-1 until you remember our owner has been dead for 10 years. Every time they show Jerry in his box I want there to be a little man with a stick poking him in the arm to prove to me he’s alive.

P.S. Make sure to play this soundtrack (RAWR) as you read the Deadspin story:

I agree with Aikman, though I wonder just how outspoken he would be if he himself hadn't been a target of Bayless.

This reminds me; between this Super Bowl and the one in the 90s where Elway and TD crushed the Falcons, I really need to buy me a Broncos Jersey and make them one of my secondary teams.

Though I will say that there is a world of difference between Cody Latimer's arrest for failure to appear at a traffic hearing and Rae Carruth's arrest for murdering his girlfriend.

Indeed. And that's why the Panthers' number is so low -- because of Carruth (and Fred Lane's murder). Carolina hung on to Greg Hardy for much longer than I thought they would (because talent) but they finally cut him loose and didn't look back.

There's a lot to be said about rooting for a team with a drama-free locker room.

Well, drana tends to rise up periodically for teams. Frequently, teams wind up having players start believing they're bigger than the team when they achieve ultimate success; winning the Super Bowl.

So, you know. Carolina should remain drama-free for a few years now.

I see what you did there ...

Anyhoo, today's WYTS (Denver, ick) is pretty satisfying. It's not as satisfying as Carolina's 38-10 win on Thursday night will be (I'm calling my shot), but it's OK.

On that note, someone ought to find Legion and tell him to create the Week 1 thread already.

I'd be interested if that chart said arrests/players. It would definitely look different. 15 players with 15 arrests is different than 4 players with 15 arrests.

PLUS how many trades have the 49ers lost this offseason do to failed physicals?

Hey, I made a point to be extremely nice to you in the aftermath of the Super Bowl, and I made a very conscious effort to be respectful and understanding. I know how hard it is to have my team utterly stomped and humiliated in the big game.

Spoiler:

Wait . . . no I don't, actually.

Week 1?

IS IT LATE ON THURSDAY YET?!?

Spoiler:

Guess Legion was trying to uphold tradition by being behind the times and waiting for someone to remind him to get his ass in gear.

It doesn't truly feel like football season until the thread bitching begins.

Week 1 thread

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Oakland Raiders at New Orleans Saints: Oakland Raiders
New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys: New York Giants
Pittsburgh Steelers at Washington Redskins: Pittsburgh Steelers
Los Angeles Rams at San Francisco 49ers: San Francisco 49ers

Looking forward to doing better than a coin-flip this year!

Are you trolling Legion?

Even if you aren't, I approve.
