New trailer is up. Excitement mounting.

This is the Galaxy on Fire people, right? I swear people were already playing this game...

We are.

Schweeeeet, it has VR support! This could very well be my killer VR game!

I am so jealous right now.

Man this game looks cool! Why on Earth didn't MS even mention this at E3? Or maybe I just missed it...

Beta is out now for those with access.

Played just a little today. VR support is minimal - most of the important HUD features just aren't there in VR mode right now and the VR graphics are very low res, but there's definitely potential.

Playing with my xBox controller is frustrating when I'm used to my full HOTAS setup. Hopefully they'll patch in more controller support down the road.

Apart from that, the game is pretty awesome so far. Feels like it's gonna turn out great in the long term.

Put in about 4 hours over the weekend. Loving this game so far!

My longest run was to sector 5 and that took just over 80 minutes. I imagine as I get better I'll be able to go much faster, but I'm enjoying the exploration of the individual systems right now. The graphics are awesome and each system feels unique. Ran into 2 "missions" so far, one asking me to kill a specific ship in another system which rewarded me with 2000 credits, and one asking me to make a delivery, but I couldn't figure out where to pick up the package so I failed that one. Can't wait for more missions and story features to be added.

I picked this up yesterday when steam told me it hit early access. I've played maybe half an hour. So far, enjoying it. It's a fun mix of exploration, resource management/crafter, and scavenger. It really is Rogue Legacy in a spaceship. My first map had three alien on my butt, and my second map saw a Colonial capital ship dropped in on my head. No skill ramp up to be expected; I got stomped. Still, when I think about it as rogue-like, I'm okay with that.

I've been trying to find anything that feels like the late Star Wars: Rogue Squadron.
Do you guys think this game would do the job + (always good)roguelike? If not, any other recommendations?
Does it have only a single ship? Every gameplay I watch is always using the same one...
Thank you =)

I've discovered I'm terrible at it. Maybe when I can use my HOTAS with it (Just controller/mouse support right now, looks like, though I could probably set it up as a controller?)

It does have just one ship right now, but more are scheduled to be added.

Any news as to when it's coming to the xbox?

Second day of playing. Flying along, minding my own business, and... well, I about yelped. Intense.

Ouch, does that kind of thing happen often? It doesn't seem so fun if you just get stomped out of nowhere.

Not often. It is a rogue-like. You can die in the very first sector, and you will early in the game. But you grab credits, buy upgrades, and go at it again. Usually I find my deaths are from me biting off more than I can chew. But, if you stay too long in one sector, the biggun's come and kick your butt.

Friends, I've been specifically requested to stream this game this weekend, so I'll be doing so around 10 AM Pacific time today. Hope y'all can stop by, and I hope y'all don't mind the pimpage.

I've been hit twice by the cruisers, and it seems to happen when you stick around too long (past the interceptors).

Yup, it's the game's way of saying, "please move along, you've been in this system long enough"

The game is really shaping up nicely. It's absolutely beautiful too! Some recent screenshots from me:

Should I dive into this now or wait for Friday for the full release with story elements?

Decisions decisions!

For those who have been playing, KB and mouse or controller?

Glad they will be supporting HOTAS in a future update.

I played controller in early access, and it worked great.

It seems like this game is made for a controller. Glad I can try a HOTAS though.

It's definitely designed around a controller. Really excited for the full release. Just in time to since I should be finishing up Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun around that time.

That looks amazing. What's the gameplay like? Freelancer? Or more like Starpoint Gemini?

Freelancery roguelike.

Full VR support when it releases also. Of course my GPU picked this week to die.

BOOMS SO PRETTY.
want.

This game ever go on sale during the steam sales? Definitely picking it up but pretty sure the summer sale is right around the corner so I'm trying to hold off on any PC game purchases until then.
