Space Hulk: Deathwing Catch-All

Focus Home Interactive and Cyanide Studios are bringing a first-person shooter based on the board game to PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Using Unreal Engine 4. The goal is tactical combat with co-op action. One item of note is that damage will be position-based, so it is possible that if one of your arms takes enough damage, a choice weapon is out of commission.

No release window as of yet, though it's looking like this could be a Fall/Holiday of 2016.

Damn that looks like an awesome concept. I hope it turns out well. Sounds kind of like left4dead type gameplay with power armor, heavy weaponry, and hordes of aliens? Sign me up

Gonna post the trailer from early last year because it's awesome.

Also, my understanding is the primary developers are Streum On Studio (of E.Y.E. Divine Cybermancy fame), with assistance from Cyanide. It looks very Left 4 Dead, which is great, Vermintide proved the formula works really well for Warhammer universe games, but I hope they preserve the terror and lethality of genestealers up close somehow without making the game impossible.

Lightning claws please!

It looks neat, though I can't say I really trust Focus & Cyanide to put out a functional product of this complexity.

Now up for pre-order on Steam.

Unnecessarily excited for this. It's the perfect game to run through with my buddy on our weekly gaming sessions. We haven't had a good co-op 40K game to play since DoW 2.

Already have this pre-ordered

Oh sh*t that finally has a date of November? sh*t. It only said PC during that part, though. Perhaps consoles will be delayed.

too much on your plate already?

My trough is never-ending.

They're just going to keep churning them out until someone makes a Space Hulk game that doesn't suck, huh?

I thought people liked the last turn-based space hulk games? I tried to get into the second one but it crashes during the tutorial.

You know what, Maq? Yes, yes they are.

I've played every last one of them. Since the 90s. They're all disappointing.

In a similar vein... if you can get past the crappy retro graphics, Space Beast Terror Fright is a badass indie rogue-like FPS inspired by Space Hulk & Aliens. It's hard, fast, and something my friends & I have been adrenaline hooked on for months now (47 hours according to Steam). 4 player local split screen is awesome for couch co-op and it has network play as well.

I think Wink really likes space beast.

Alien Swarm captured the Space Hulk feel better than most. I think Deathwing has potential. Like Renji says it's that L4D thing, which has legs.

So.... I just watched that thing, and I still have no idea who or what you were shooting at this entire time.

Tyranids.

Zerg for the unitiated.

Bloody hell, that's the 3rd time I've heard Alien Swarm referenced in the past week. Anyone up for some Alien Swarm this weekend? It's a free (and totally awesome) co-op game.

Space Beast Terror Fright is amazing y'all.

Some gameplay

Looks great, but they gotta work on the frequency and timbre of those teammate barks. They're just so... bleh.

I just started painting my first WH40k set a few months ago (The Dark Vengeance starter set) which has these Terminators in it. After watching that video, I totally want to try and figure out how to paint that power weapon effect... I'm also wondering if I can get or make that "I am wrath. I am steel. I am the fury of angels" text as a water transfer decal...

I was just coming to post that 17 min solo campaign video. Wow, this game looks amazing!

I had the exact same reaction, it really took away from the game.

This and Watch_Dogs 2 are my last purchases of 2016. This looks outstanding. Buddy and I are hugely anticipating rolling this into our weekly game playing session.

Yeah the devs confirmed the excessive ai chatter was a bug and is now fixed.

Awesome.

So glad this isn't hitting consoles until 2017 because I just do not have the room for another game right now.

Their beta is supposed to go out after next Friday. A little concerned that it's so close to release date.

Yeah, it was supposed to be this weekend but bug squashing moved it out a bit. I just hope it's a smooth game at launch and has replayability!

Replayablility is going to be a big thing for me. It doesn't have to be jam packed but a friend and I will be going through this so co-op, variety, and progression are key things.
