Titanfall 2 Catch-All

Pages

We finally have some media to look at, so I thought I'd start a thread. I'm quite excited about it as I was a big fan of the first game.

Oh, coming to PS4 also? Smart move.

The first one was an exclusive that Mircosoft paid for but the deal was only for the first one.

Hopefully it has single player campaign going for it this time around. And more content. But from the little it shows it looks intriguing! I think it's amusing though how a lot of peoples reaction is "Oh my lawd! Mech. Swords! Day one purchase!", like it's something new. Swords in games have been around for for a while now people lol. Let's wait and see if they do anything new with it.

I loved the concept of the original, but with no single-player mode of any kind it left me out in the cold.

I wouldn't even mind a bots only type game, a la the original Battlefield 1942, as long as they can refine the AI somewhat. I just want to play a giant mech game and the idea of not always being in one is intriguing as well.

Mech! Swords! Day one puchase!!!!!11!11!!!111!!!!one1!!!!

As long as they hit on its predecessors high points, I'll be very interested.

Lol I both love and lament that I live in a time where people can watch a 48 second trailer of almost literally nothing with a sword and it justifies an immediate purchase. I love this hobby hah. Never dull.

I wonder what engine they are going with this time since Source is pretty long in the tooth.

But all I know is people calling it TF2 is driving me nuts. TF2 has been TF2 for 7 years. If a game called Weapons of Wyoming comes out, we aren't calling it WoW dammit.

Same problem with GoW. Now, you tell me which game I'm talking about. Anyone using SMB for Super Meat Boy I just don't get.

This one is supposed to have a campaign, last I read. Which has me curious. Actually what has me most curious is seeing the lizard creature in the foreground before the Mech shows up. Did Titanfall have fauna?

June 12th for the reveal, eh? Either just before showing it off at one of the E3 press conferences or during one of 'em. Normally the press conferences aren't on Sunday, though, unless someone is trying to beat Bethesda at it this year.

Loved Titanfall! I even thought the base Attrition game mode was pretty neat, an interesting remix of Team Deathmatch where you could absolutely build yourself around murdering the minions as quickly and efficiently as possible to win the game that way, so I'm sort of hoping for more of the same.

Also, my outrageous wish: I hope they provide micro-scale titans that are extremely fragile and have their own limited parkour set.

Edit: Actually, in general more variety in Titan types would be nice, rather than the simple light/medium/heavy breakdown in the original. Give us a quadruped! Give us a melee focused Titan... and hell, throw a big ol' Titan-scale riot-shield on that puppy.

Hype!

I enjoyed the original a whole lot, definitely my favorite multiplayer fps of the last couple of years. What helped a lot was the fact that while they still had a progression system to unlock weapons etc., because apparently you can't make a game without such a system holding it back these days, unlocking everything took very little time compared to most other games. I really hope they don't listen to some of the people who at the time complained about their Skinner box not having enough longevity.
Even though after the first game I'd actually be fine with it just being the multiplayer again, a campaign does sound rad. I very much enjoy my solo shooting and the giant robots have definite potential in that regard, so I hope they do r8ght by that this time around.

Looking forward to it!

Didnt think they could top the last uber edition with the giant Titan statue.. but the wearable helmet might top it afterall.

I'm tremendously excited for this game. They've got multiplayer, single player, and sliding!

And also a grappling hook. But I'm not sure how I feel about that mechanical becoming standard in parkour-ish games.

I totally missed out on the first Titan Fall since I only had a PS4 but I'm honestly pretty excited for this. That grappling hook, plus the variation in mechs should add a lot of variety to the gameplay.

One other thing they announced, all maps and modes released post launch for this will be free, so they learned and aren't doing that split the playerbase thing that only DICE still seems determined to do with the new Battlefield. Again.

Bunch of quick answer q and a stuff on the Titanfall twitter. Smart pistols are back! With changes. Clan support is in! GWJ network assemble!

So my friend basically said he's not interested in this due to cheaters. I put in just under 50 hrs and do not recall any large amount of players that felt like they were cheating, and I didn't join until very late. Is my experience just not the norm?

I'm not sure I ever ran into any. If I did, it wasn't enough to be noticeable.

I've run into a couple, and occasionally it's hard not to wonder if people with laser aim aren't just cheating. Not hard to just quit the match and go find another. I haven't seen many clear cut instances for a playtime that is... large.

Here's an article I read that's sure to make anyone paranoid about it, though.

There is some single player footage. I wasn't sure about the first trailer but the look and the visual changes are growing on me. I'm excited for this game but that excitement is overshadowed by the massive gaming zeppelin that is Battlefield 1.

Fun!

Interview at ign

I like a lot what they're saying, and a good amount of the positives the preview is talking about. Feeling optimistic about the SP.

On another note, I had no idea that 1 and 2 are both Source engine games.

I'm really quite exciting for this game, it seems like they've improved everything from the last game. I'm also kind of happy that they are using the same engine, it probably means I'll be able to run it on my aging GTX570M.

Live event from Gamescom

EDIT: This event is hilarious late at this point.

EDIT 2: Just starting at 2.43pm EST.

I'm actually getting more excited for this. I really liked the first one, but I did stop playing it sooner than I would have thought. But with this getting a full fledged solo campaign, I'm more interested in this. I play far more solo than MP, and Halo 5 is plenty of MP for me.

But the solo campaign looks like a lot of fun, and jumping in and out of mechs is a great way to keep the gameplay fresh, since both modes are fun as heck.

I'm of the same mindset. I enjoyed the MP in Titanfall but would have really liked a SP game. And maybe more customization options.
